"y/n." Iwaizumi said your name softly as Sakura petals spilled out of his mouth. "Iwa." you replied back softly as the thorns in your body punctured your lungs more as you said his name, rose petals spilling out of your mouth. he held you in his arms.

You're probably wondering how this all happened....

FLASHBACK 1

You, Oikawa, and Iwaizumi all grew up in the Miyagi prefecture and attended the same schools your whole lives, you met Iwaizumi first on the playground in kindergarten. He was helping Oikawa with something when you accidentally kicked your ball too far and ended up almost hitting the two boys.

"I'M SORRY!" you cried out as you ran over to them as he chuckled.

"It's okay, my name is Hajime Iwaizumi, but you can call me Iwa for short! this is Toru Oikawa." he said as you smiled at both of them. they were your first friends. After that day, you three were inseparable.

FLASHBACK 2 *4 years ago*

You three were in high school, you were the volleyball teams manager for Aoba Johsai alongside your best friends Iwaizumi and Oikawa who were collectively the strongest two on the team. It was your final year of high school. They had just finished their last game against Karasuno, the entire team was full of hatred and sadness combined knowing they weren't going to make it to the finals.

"come here you two." you whispered tears in your eyes knowing they were both heartbroken. Their goal was to beat Shiratorizawa and finally prove they were strong enough. They both hugged you as you three sobbed hard. "You guys were amazing. You fought till the end. I love you both." you said as Kindaichi called you three over to thank the crowd for watching the game. Oikawa let go which made you just a little sad but Iwa stayed in your arms longer.

"You okay Iwa?" you asked him as he sniffled. "I love you too." he said softly as you smiled and ran your fingers through his hair.

You took this lightly. But in reality, he had just confessed his true feelings for you but you were blinded by another love for you to realize. He knew you didn't realize it, his heart broke a little more as he felt a bad cough come up. He let you go, and ran over to the bench to grab a towel. Wiping his tears he covered his mouth and let out a cough, he saw the Sakura petal and knew right then and there, you were probably never going to feel the same.. After that day, he had kept quiet about his feelings, and his new sickness that one day would seal his fate in this horrible world.

FLASHBACK 3 *2 years ago*

You left for New York, Iwa moved to California, and Oikawa went to Argentina. you kept in touch, calling Iwa regularly and Oikawa called whenever he wasn't busy. You missed him the most, evidently because you and Oikawa had hooked up before you both left Tokyo. You had liked him for a good amount of years but with his fangirls he never really paid attention to how much you would playfully flirt. He told you he liked you and you felt the same, but after that night he had grown distant. Iwaizumi knew about it and it secretly broke him, because he loved you, and he had known that since the day he met you in that playground. He comforted you as much as he could and even flew to new York for the week to stay with you before his school started. you never realized how much he cared and loved you because you were wrapped up in thinking about Oikawa. Iwazumi was slowly dying, he was sick. You just never knew.

TIME SKIP *1 year ago*

One night, while you finished your homework, Oikawa texted your group chat with the three of you and asked to facetime. He called shortly after and you and Iwa joined. "HI GUYS! so first off I miss you both so much, and SECOND I AM GETTING MARRIED!" he said happily as you felt your heart drop. you put up a fake front and smiled wide.
