Tenya, quite frankly, was terrified. But there was no way he was going to let his partner, who was currently sobbing into his shoulder as he tried desperately to stop hyperventilating, know that. Izuku was expected to be home three hours ago and wasn't picking up his phone. Which for some people may not be a terribly big deal. But when you are in the hero profession there is never the guarantee that you will make it home. Which they seem to forget sometimes, but moments like this are a horrible reminder.
He put his arm around his panicking partner before he softly kissed his head, as he picked up his phone and tried to call Izuku again. The phone rang once and then immediately went to voicemail. He let out a frustrated noise as he waited to hear the beep that indicated for him to start talking. "Izuku, please call us back when you can. Shouto and I are very worried". Was all he said before he pressed the button ending the voicemail.
"Ten... I-I can't lose him.. I can't.." Shouto said in between gasps for air.
Tenya frowned and tried to soothingly rub Shouto's back, not quite sure what to say to make this better. Because honestly he couldn't lose Izuku either. Losing either of his partners was his biggest fear. The only thing stopping him from completely panicking was the fact that he was trying to put on a brave face for Shouto.
"I know Shou, but right now all we can do is just hope that he is okay", Tenya said hoping that was even a little bit comforting. But all Shouto did in response was duck his head back into Tenyas shoulder and grab tightly onto the fabric of his shirt as he let out louder sobs. Tenya wrapped both his arms around him and Shouto scooted forward a bit so he was fully sitting in Tenya's lap as he held him.
"Have you checked the news?" Shouto mumbled into his shoulder.
"Yeah, I have been checking on and off, and I haven't seen anything. Which Is actually probably a good sign if something was going on with one of the top heroes in the country I am sure they would be reporting on it", Tenya said hoping it would help calm Shouto down a bit. But Tenya knew Izuku could be impulsive and if he saw someone in danger he would go to try to save them, even if it wasn't somewhere that could be easily seen. He could honestly be dying in some alley right now, needing help and no one would know. Gosh why did Tenya have to think like that? The idea of that was what finally made him break as the first tear fell down his cheek. Shit! He had to stop. Shouto was still shaking and sobbing in his arms, and needed him to be strong, but he didn't know if he could do it anymore. He let out a small sob and lifted one of his hands to his face, removing his glasses, and wiping his tears away quickly hoping that Shouto hadn't noticed.
A part of Tenya felt like he should go out there and look for Izuku, but he wouldn't even begin to know where to look. He felt so useless. There was nothing he could do to help. His boyfriend could be dead and there was absolutely nothing he could do. What would they ever do without Izuku? How would they continue if he was actually gone?
Then they heard the sound of keys jingling near the front door and both of them let out a gasp and look at the door. The door knob twisted and they saw their boyfriend enter, "I am so sorry....", he started to say, most likely about to give an explanation but he got a look at the shape his partners were in and automatically froze with a horribly guilty look on his face.
Shouto immediately jumped out of Tenya's lap, running over to Izuku and wrapping his arms around his neck as he basically collapsed against him as he continued to cry. Izuku wrapped his arms around Shouto but besides that pretty much stayed frozen with the same guilty look on his face as he looked over to Tenya.
Tenya wasn't really sure what to do at this point. He was so happy that Izuku was safe, at home. But he still felt the nervous pit in his stomach. He also didn't want to run up to him in the same fashion as Shouto and overwhelm him, he probably had a pretty rough day, since he was getting home three hours late. Tenya gave him a bit of a sad smile before he looked down at the floor in front of him trying to figure the right way to handle the situation.
"I- I am so sorry for worrying you guys.. I-" Izuku said, before stopping to take a deep breath, most likely gathering his thoughts, "I got caught up fighting a villain who was robbing a bank in a small-ish town, My phone got broken in the fight and I ended up getting lost." He said as he rubbed Shouto's back.
"I thought we lost you", Shouto said, he sounded absolutely exhausted. Probably from the panic attack.
"I'm so sorry, really.. I didn't mean to scare you", he said gently pushing the strands of hairs that had fallen out of Shouto's messy bun out of his face before kissing his forehead.
Tenya sighed lightly, putting his glasses back on and standing up. He still had a lot of confusing feelings about all of this, but those would have to be solved at a different time. "May I touch you?" He asked as he approached Them. Izuku nodded his head and Tenya wrapped his arms around both of them. He let out a breath he hadn't even realized he had been holding in. He was just grateful he was able to hold both of them again. He softly kissed the top of his head before resting his head on top of his before he said, "I'm just glad you're safe".
