7. Stuck in my head

The whole ride home I tell Paris what happened. I could notice her becoming more and more distant. 'So Simon asked you to come backstage? And he has your phonenumber?' I nodd. 'I don't really know how this happened either. This evening felt like a fever dream.' She laughs 'I wish it was.' I kinda feel like she isn't joking. Something is bothering is her but I don't know what it is. The rest of the drive we sit in silence. When we arrive at our house Paris goes straight to her room. Nothing from the unusual but I still feel like something is wrong. My mom asks how my night was and I tell her that Bram gave me his phonenumber. I'm not gonna tell her about Simon though. She would not be a big fan of him. My mom really likes the note Bram wrote for me. 'Do you think he likes you?' She asks me. 'I don't know. I think he was just trying to be friendly.' My mom laughs at me 'uhu that's why he wrote a heart on the paper'. She winks at me. I laugh and stare. Could the drummer of Blanks 182 actually like me, or even more prominent in my mind is: why does Simon have interest in me? I am the most boring person on this whole planet. Is this some sort of game to him? Maybe he is just pulling some sort of prank on me? 'Where is your head? Thinking of Bram?' My mom asks. 'Yeah kind of I guess.' She looks at me and I know that she knows that I'm hiding something. 'I'm gonna go to bed.' My mom looks at me 'goodnight'. She hugs me and gives me a kiss. I walk upstairs and take off my make-up. I change into my pyjamas and try to read a chapter from my favourite book: the Perks of being a Wallflower. I relate to the book, because I consider myself a wallflower. I'm invisible, I'm boring, people never notice me. So why did Simon? "No" I say to myself, I try to stop myself from thinking about him. I manage to read a chapter but then my mind wanders again, I'm thinking about his tattooed arms, his wavy brown hair and his eyes. Those eyes...
