Today is the day where it rains. It's the day when I wear all black clothing and my step father comforts my mother. Today is the day we attend my grandparents funeral. It's a really painfull feelings, because memories keep rushing back to me. My grandmother was such a wonderful person. She made sure my brother and I had what we needed. My grandfarther was a genius. He was the one who helped me with my homework when my mother didn't have the time. I could cry right now, but it just doesn't seem real. I don't beileve they're gone, but they are.
My mother steps out the car and makes her way to the grave yard, my step father Jack follows behind her. My brother and I grab eachothers hand as we follow them.
"Alyson?" my brother payton asks.
"yes, pat."
"Do you think mom will start drinking again?" he asked as we made our final step by the casket.
I put two red roses on top of both caskets.
"No, I won't let her do that again." I said.
The funeral was a long and dredful time. It felt like I was standing there for years with an umbrella over my head. When it was over my brother and I rode back with my mothers friend Kendra, because my mom wouldn't leave. She wanted to stay. I had to leave because, I hated funerals.
On the way back to the house I starred out the window watching the raindrops glide down the window. The sun shined out through the clouds and I felt like it was a sign from my grandparents, letting me know that they were still with us.
When we arrived at our house I headed to my room. I opened my laptop and started to watch old family videos I use to film. I was big on recording every family event. I found a video from when I interview my grandfather. I would ask him questions about his passed. I interviewed my grandmother as well. In the interview I asked her if she had any secrets. She said she had diaries from when she was a young girl. She said I couldn't read them until she passed away.
After watching that video I slammed shut the laptop and headed to the basement. I pulled out every box I could find, trying to find her hidden diaries.
