My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest as I put my hands on the triangle. "Monika, I'm not sure we should be doing this", I whispered. She looked up, her beaming face was lit up even more by the light of the single candle in the room. "Don't do it", Sam's voice whimpered from the dark corner of the room.
It was my 13th party. The last one I would ever have in Birmingham. Mom was moving to Cornwall to get a fresh start, and as we was both under 18, me and my brother had to go too.
As it was my last celebration in the city me and my friend Monika decided we wanted to do something memorable. I didn't have many friends but the five I had were the best in the world. Monika was the one I always got into trouble with. We were always looking for fun and dangerous things to do, I guess you could called her my partner in crime.
Getting everybody drunk was out of the question because we'd already done that. We'd played every single prank that you could think of on the others but there was one thing we'd been too scared to try...a ouija board.
All my others friends were against it but promised to watch as they wanted to see if their really was a ghost in my house.
"If you really don't want to we won't, but just remember, we can stop it at any time", she whispered back. I nodded and put my hands back on the triangle. I was the chosen speaker so I licked my lips and took a deep breath trying to calm myself.
"If there is a spirit present, please make a sign to us"
....nothing.
"I said, if there is a spirit present please make a sign to us"
For a few seconds there was still nothing. Then suddenly somebody hit the snare drum on the drum kit really hard. One of the by slanders shone a torch on the drum kit...there was no one there.
I took another deep breath in, I was petrified and so was everyone else in the room but there was no way we could stop now.
"Thankyou, I would like to ask some questions for you to answer on thus ouija board if that's okay? Bang once for yes, twice for no"
The snare drum went once again. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, my friends were crying in the corner.
"so, are you a male or female?"
Triangle moves to M - meaning it was a man.
"Are you happy as you are?
Triangle moves Y E S
"How old are you?"
N O A G E- no age
"Are you hear because you have unfinished business?"
Y E S
"Are you a ghost?"
D E M O N
I felt like I was going to pass out. I was talking to a demon. I'd read just a few hours before that ghost or demons could posses your body through ouija boards. I decided it was time to stop. I made eye contact with Monika, she was crying with fear.
"Well thankyou very much for your time sir, you-"
The triangle started again W A I T
I continued to talk anyway "we must be going sir thankyou once again". I took my hand of the board "Sam, light!" Se turned on the light as fast as she could. I blew out the candle and leant back on my chair, unable to believe what we had just seen. Nobody said a word.
Five minutes later, "well that was fun", she said while grinning.
