"No."

"How about a more enthusiastic 'yes'?"

"How about 'no fucking way', Lou."

Harry has a small feeling that this is Louis' idea of finding out what's going on in the house and to disprove all the rumors of murderous ghosts living in there. In other words, he thinks Louis wants to prove he won't become a scaredy cat again.

"Yer out of yeh mind if ya think yer gonna get me into that house again."

That was the end of that, but only for a day. Twenty-four hours and nineteen minutes, to be exact.

"We're just teenagers, Lou. We're gonna get killed if we do something like that."

Louis rolls his eyes, completely tired of Zayn's pessimism. "Zayn, just use your pompous mind. We could be known as town legends. The news will tell our small town that the five of us saved them from future slayings."

"You're obviously watching too much Scooby Doo and not enough horror movies." Zayn insists, crunching on a chip. "You're the person that everybody hates because they bloody wanna go into the haunted, psychopathic house."

"Z, give him a break." Liam reasons.

Louis nods, feigning innocence. "Yes, Zaynie. Allow me a break."

Zayn crosses his arms. "You other lads are just feeding into his bullshit."

"You can be our technologic manager."

"You've got to be kidding me." Zayn grumbles. "You know what, fuck it! If I die, I'm gonna haunt you forever, Louis."

"Dramatic." Niall coughs out, earning a laugh from Harry and Liam.

"We will be investigating while the sun is still out. That is a strategy people in horror movies have never thought of."

Zayn remains silent.

"I'll only go in on three conditions." Liam bargains.

Louis nods. "Okay, anything."

"We always stay together, we never leave each other, and no one is aloud to say anything stupid like in the movies."

"You might wanna define stupid to Louis." Zayn suggests.

"No asking dumb questions or saying things that could get us killed." Liam amends.

Louis shrugs. "Simple enough."

This settles as the most idiotic thing Harry has ever agreed to. What Louis talked them into during that lunch block is like Darry talking his sister Trish to take him back to the abandoned church where there were dead bodies in Jeepers Creepers. That didn't end well for them and Harry doesn't think it'll end well for Harry and the lads either.

"Cameras and recorders are necessities for ghost hunting. It is necessary that we gather all the cameras and recorders we can find before Saturday."

Harry nods. "I have a couple of cameras that I never use anymore."

"Brilliant, darling."

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Louis looks indecisive for a bit until a smile creeps onto his face. "I don't know. I'm okay with not knowing."

"I swear you're insane."

"But I have a strong feeling that's why you fancy me."

Harry covers his face with his hands. "I don't fancy you."

"Right..."

When Harry uncovers his eyes, he finds baby blues staring back into his. Louis' closer to Harry than he's ever been. For a split second, Harry thinks Louis' going to kiss him.

"There's a stray curl." Louis' breath hits his face.

Louis reaches his small hand up to Harry's face.

"Lou." Harry pushes his forehead against Louis'. "Do it."

"Do what?" Louis whispers, resting a soft hand on Harry's cheek.

"You know what."

Louis hovers his lips in front of Harry's.

Harry whines. "Kiss me."

"Your wish is my command."

Their lips touch for the first time and Harry is internally buzzing with happiness. Harry feels Louis' warmth against him. Louis swipes his tongue across Harry's bottom lip then pulls away.

Harry pouts.

"I think you've had enough."

Harry falls back down on his bed, huffing out a breath. He stares at the ceiling with disappointment.

"You're such a baby." Louis teases, falling down next to Harry.

"I'm not a baby."

"Fine. You're a hormonal teenage boy."

"I can control myself."

Louis rolls his eyes. "You've been aching for that kiss for days."

"I've only known you for days." Harry points out.

"Exactly."

Harry jabs Louis in the side. "Toss off."

"You would enjoy that, gorgeous."

Harry groans. "Is this how we're gonna be now?"

"What? In love?"

Harry gives up on him.

That Friday night, Harry and Louis make dinner and share that along with many kisses along the line.

"You realize we might die tomorrow, right?"

"You're trying to guilt trip me into shagging you."

Harry fakes a gasp. "I would never."

They're in Harry's bed, Harry propped up on his elbow. Louis' close to him, staring up at the ceiling. Harry really wants kisses.

"One kiss and that is all I plan on giving."

Harry gets that kiss. Louis pulls Harry's face to him, pressing his plump lips to Harry's thin ones.

The next morning is full of surprises. Zayn, a right prick about the situation, comes stumbling into Harry's with a new opinion.

"If I die, at least I'll die happy."

Liam, looking guilty, explains Zayn's current state. "I let him have a few beers before we left mine."

Louis laughs. "Brilliant. Now he won't be too much of a narcissistic asshole."

"Hey, don't talk about me like I'm not here." Zayn sticks his tongue out at Louis, not even acknowledging that Louis just insulted him. Zayn just cares that he's acknowledged.

Louis ignores Zayn and gathers the lads in Harry's living room.

"In light of recent events, we are going into the Murder House to see what demons lie inside. We are to each have a camera and to stay together. No splitting up, no staying behind. Safety is first for once."

Zayn snorts. "Nice to know you care about our well-being nowadays."

Louis throws his shoe at Zayn after making a show of taking it off in front of the lads. "Let us go and approach our possible deaths."

In retrospect, they should really consider staying away from the house. Like, with everything that's happened in that house, they should run away in fear. But, as Louis made sure of, they're going in.

"Show it no fear." Louis orders, pretending to be a sergeant from a movie he and Harry had watched the night before.

Harry thinks it terrifies him more that Louis refers to the house as an 'it' rather than an inanimate object as it is. The Murder House is a house, not a living thing. At least Harry hopes so.

"Fear is just a state of mind."

feedback is much appreciated :)
