"And stay away!"
Wakko stood there as his date, who was most certainly no longer his date, splashed her cup of water on him, walking out and leaving the restaurant they had gone to. He sighed, paying and leaving the restaurant in disappointment and embarrassment.
He walked on his way home, kicking rocks on the sidewalk and looking down.
"Why does this always happen? Why can't I get someone to like me?" He mumbled to himself.
He walked into the water tower, slamming the door shut, causing Yakko and Dot to jump in surprise.
"Wakko, what's the matter? Another date go wrong?" He asked. Wakko took his jacket off and plopped himself on to the couch.
"Yep. As usual."
"Why's your shirt wet?" Yakko asked, scooting over to talk to Yakko.
"She threw her cup of water on me." Wakko responded, covering his face with his hands in embarrassment.
"Yikes. I'm really sorry about that. Do you know why she did that?" Yakko asked.
"I guess I was a bit too immature for her liking, and I got on her nerves with my dumb jokes." He said.
"Well, just know that's her fault for being such a sourpuss." Yakko said, smiling and playfully punching Wakko's arm. Wakko chuckled.
"Yeah, guess you're right." He stood up, going to the fridge.
"Well, I'm gonna go eat some ice cream in my room." He said, getting out the ice cream and walking into his room for the night. Yakko and Dot looked at each other, slightly concerned for Wakko.
The next morning..
"Ugh for crying out loud, Wakko, get up!!" Yakko yelled in frustration, as his brother wouldn't get out of bed.
"Go without me, I've said it 5 times already! Can you not hear or something??" Wakko sat up, angrily. Dot stepped back a little bit, surprised. Wakko's temper had always been bad, but it just seemed to be getting worse. And the fact that he isn't a morning person doesn't help, either.
"Wakko..please, just calm down a bit." Yakko said, putting his hand on Wakko's shoulder. Wakko sighed.
"Why are we even going to visit the cartoon artists? It sounds dumb." He said, laying back down and staring at the ceiling angrily.
"Wakko, they offered us to. We couldn't just say no. They're hard workers..a-and besides, they're gonna teach us a few things. We haven't been invited to anything in a while, and it'll be fun!" Yakko said. Wakko sat back up, getting out of bed and cursing quietly to himself.
"Hold up there, now. You've got to fix your temper up before we go anywhere." Yakko said, crossing his arms.
"Oh no, I can't go and learn how to draw. Whatever shall I do?" Wakko said sarcastically.
"How about if you stay nice all day we buy you a pizza?" Dot asked, bribing him.
"I accept!" Wakko grinned, getting ready to go.
The siblings made it to the animation studio, being welcomed by a lot of artists. Yakko seemed to get the most welcomed, especially by the female artists. Poor Wakko stood behind his siblings, not earning too much attention except for some smiles. They were guided around the studio, learning about its history and what all of the artists do.
Wakko sighed, as he walked behind the rest of everyone as they roamed the halls. He was growing very bored, especially since he wanted to ignore the history of this place, as it was the last place he and his siblings were before they were captured and locked in the water tower for 60+ years. While walking, he noticed a break room, seeing food in there. He quietly snuck away, hiding in the break room. He tip-toed to the table and ate a donut. He heard the sound of paper shuffling looking behind him, causing him to turn around. He jumped, yelping. He saw you, with a coffee and a sketchbook on the table.
"Sorry, I-I didn't mean to yell like that. I had no idea someone else was in here." Wakko said, apologizing. You giggled slightly.
"It's alright. Feel free to hang out in here if you want. I'm just in here to get away from everyone else." You said.
"Huh, well that makes the two of us, I guess." He said, sitting down in the chair across from you.
"I'm probably not as fun as the other people out there, but I can keep you company while they do all of that tour stuff." You said, shrugging your shoulders and smiling. You went back to doodling in your sketchbook, as Wakko continued to eat some more food.
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you drawing?" Wakko asked. You looked up, smiling.
"Oh, well I'm just drawing some of the Looney Tunes right now." You said, showing him a doodle of Daffy Duck. His eyes widened.
"Woah, that's impressive." He said. You chuckled.
"Thanks. Have the artists tried teaching you guys how to draw a character yet?" You asked. He shook his head.
"Oh, well I suppose I could try to teach you how to draw Bugs Bunny if you'd like!" You asked. He smiled, nodding.
"Sure." He took a piece of paper and a pencil, as you taught him about basics shapes and how to sketch it out.
"Aaand, there you have it." You said, smiling as he finished his drawing. It looked surprisingly decent, and he was even more surprised with himself.
"Wow, that was more fun than I imagined it would be." He said, looking at his drawing.
"Well, it seems like you've got a knack for drawing." You said.
"Hm, maybe I do. I definitely couldn't do this without your teaching, though." He said, smiling at you. You blushed, smiling back. He looked at the clock, panicking, as the tour was about to come to an end.
"Oh no. I better get back before they realize I'm gone!" Wakko said, getting up. The two of you said your goodbyes, as you saw noticed that he left his drawing on the table. You were about to tell him about it, but he was already gone. You looked at it, seeing a phone number at the bottom corner. It seemed half torn, as if he was about to tear it out. You smiled to yourself, knowing what you were going to be doing later.
You sighed, as you were finally done working for the day. You called the number on the bottom page.
Wakko lied in bed, groaning as he was awaken from his afternoon nap.
"Hello?" He said, groggily.
"Hi, is this Wakko?" You asked. His eyes widened, as he remembered it was you.
"Y/N? Do you need anything?" He asked.
"I-I was just calling to tell you that you left your drawing here. I can stop by and give it to you if you'd like." You said.
"Oh no, no. I can come and get it." He said.
"Oh, alright. Well I live in apartment (random number)! Just a couple buildings down from the watertower." You told him. The two of you said your goodbyes, as you got his drawing out. You looked at yourself in the mirror, and yikes you looked a wreck. You quickly brushed your hair and touched yourself up, hearing a knock. You answered it, smiling as you saw Wakko.
"Hi! You can come on in if you want, let me go get your drawing." You said. He walked in, looking around the place.
You placed a sticky note on top of his drawing with a doodle you did quickly for him. You walked back toward him, seeing that he was staring at a picture of you on the wall. You blushed slightly, clearing your throat. His eyes widened, as he turned back around.
"Here ya go! And if you ever want some more drawing lessons, you know where to find me." You said, smiling and handing him his stuff. He looked at the little doodle you did for him, smiling.
"Heh, thanks a lot, Y/N. I'll for sure keep in touch with you." He smiled, as he left. You sighed, sitting on the couch.
Why did that seem so complicated?
