CURRENTLY REVISING THIS! Unrevised version:
"Hey Kaidou, is everything alright?" Aren knocked on the stall it sounded like the crying was coming from.
Gym class just ended and Kaidou had sprinted back into the school, so fast that Aren couldn't catch up to him. The kids in class were making fun of Shun's pitching abilities and, admittedly he was terrible, but he was distraught.
A panicked noise came from behind the stall door, then slowly it opened. The blue-haired boy exited, with puffy eyes and red cheeks. "Y-yeah," Kaidou barely managed to squeak out. "I- I know I'm bad at sports but sniff I'm not that bad."
Aren didn't know what to do. He knew Kaidou would be crying, and he knew he wanted to comfort him, but the only thing is he didn't know was what to do.
Kuboyasu took Shun's head and pushed it into his chest. 'What am I doing?!'
"Listen, Kaidou... Shun. Listen Shun, you did great out there! You tried your best and that's all that matters. Plus you participated which gets you a good grade," Aren added onto the end so it didn't seem too personal.
Kaidou's heart skipped a beat. He never gets hugged. Not by friends, not by family, Aren was his first hug in a while.
"Thanks... Aren." Shun pulled away and looked up to smile at Kuboyasu.
"It's no problem!" Aren responded with a grin. "Hey, I'm going to head back to class. I'll tell the teacher you're in the bathroom so you're not marked absent. And actually, take my number. In case you need anything again, y'know?"
Kaidou smiled even more. "Thank you Aren," he said handing over his unlocked phone.
The boys exchanged numbers and Aren went back to class as Shun took a minute to wash up. Looking in the mirror, his eyes stopped puffing, and tears were gone, but his cheeks were still red. Kaidou hasn't known his new friend for long, but he knew that they were going to be close.
---------(timeskip, tomorrow, Saturday)---------
Kaidou was idling around his bedroom. It was clean, not a speck of dust or dirt. And he did all his homework already otherwise he wouldn't hear the end of it from his mom. So there was nothing to do. He scrolled hopelessly through his phone, liking posts on autopilot.
Suddenly, an idea struck. 'I got Aren's number yesterday! Yeah he did say it was if I ever need anything, but wanting to hang out is a need, right? Whatever, he calls me by my first name already so it's not like he hates me' He started navigating to the messages app.

It's a date :)
Kaidou nodded at his phone with satisfaction. 'This is probably my first time going to a ramen shop without Nendou,' He thought with a chuckle. But Aren's last text stood out to him. "It's a date :)"???
'Maybe I came on too strong with the text faces and I felt the need to add something. Yeah. that's probably it.' Shun reasoned while picking out an outfit. 'But "date"? He doesn't talk the most formal but... Arrrggh why do I even care?'
