7. Manik Malhotra?

When everyone got settled Nandini said "Bhai leave all this, when are others coming?"

Cabir replied " as Navya is here, Maddy will come in the afternoon if possible bring Avni too with him. Nandini nodded in understanding.

Nandini said "ok now you guys continue I'm going to prepare lunch" she said and stepped ahead when Navya stopped her "wait Nandu even I will occupy with you. I don't want to listen these boys boring news and Cricket talks." Making Nandini laugh and Cabir cringe at her and Manik smile.

Here in living room all settled down on couches.

"So Manik what do you think we should do?" Asked Cabir to which Manik answered "I don't know Cabir. But I have to do something instead of being idle and be a burden to you guys."

"You said this time I'm taking it but if you say this again I will kill you" Cabir warned him to which Manik nodded with a smile. Feeling homely for the first time ever.

Cabir remembered something and asked "what about your music Manik? It gave you life na" and as Rishabh is watching TV, Nandini and Navya can't listen to their talks.

Manik immediately said "no Cabir. I'm not going to join music again. You know right what Fab5 had done with me. They're all are selfish. From starting of my life , anything and everything happens with my music only. So I don't want music in my life."

Cabir nodded but didn't say anything as he knows past. Everytime Manik used to work hard for music but something or other things happen.

Cabir got a call in the mean time and the buzz disturbed their flow. Frowning at the caller ID, he thought of the possibilities for a second before lifting it.

He lifted it there only..we can only hear cabirs voice..

Cabir- hello..

Person- ......

Cabir- yes sir..

Person- ..........

Cabir- so what we should do now sir..

Person- ..........

Cabir- ok sir I will try..

Person- ..........

Cabir- sir actually I have someone to that..

Person- ..........

Cabir- ok sir..I will do it....

Cabir cut the call...

Manik asked "What happened Cabir? You look so tensed, is everything okay?"

Cabir "yes Manik a big problem. From now, you have to keep lunch box and daily ironed outfits and all" Manik looked so confused at his words.

Manik said "I know you lost it my dear friend don't worry I will book a room in mental asylum for you" Patting his back sympathetically to which Cabir gave a stink eye to him and then Cabir hugged manik tightly. Manik was confused but didn't say anything but hugged him back.

Even Nandini and Navya came out of kitchen after making lunch.

Manik asked again "what happened Cabir?" Cabir screamed like a banshee "you got the job mannu" making Rishabh flinch and he looked at Cabir as if two male Gorillas are dancing naked to stereo type songs. 

Manik was happy. His eyes glittered with happiness but still he was confused "how come Cabir?"

Cabir explained "one of my colleague resigned his post as he got another job in other company and we need someone in that place and you can take it. Sir asked me to give advertisement for job but I said I know someone. So I wanna take you. For now let's go for getting your name changed and then we can go for office."

Manik was happy, shocked, what not? but nodded. Rishabh hugged him.

Rishab said happily "congratulations Bhai."

Manik said smiling widely "thank you Rishu". Rishabh broke the hug. Nandini shook her hand and congratulated him. Manik thanked her.

Nandini said "so Manik say what's your favorite food. We will make that today." excitedly for his first success.

Cabir nodded in agreement saying "Haa Manik. Nandu cooks the best food. Say what's your favorite, she will make it."

Manik asked hesitatingly "You guys eat non-veg right?" 

"Chill Manik we do eat non-veg," said Nandini with a smile making him huff. "Thank god. Okay then I wish for chicken biryani" said Manik with a smile.

Nandini said "Ofcourse Manik it will be ready in an hour. Cabir Bhai call Maddy and check where is he. How much time that duffer is going to take?" 

Cabir nodded and called him and said that he will be there in an hour.

Rishab and Manik were watching TV. Cabir was looking at Manik's certificate for changes.

Cabir informed Manik "Manik after lunch let's go to the office ok. We will make changes today itself."

Manik nodded smilingly. Rishabh too smiled.

After one hour Madhyam came to Nandini's house. Till then nandu completed her cooking and arranged food on the dining table with the help of Navya who is all ready to jump on food and savor it like she didn't have it for ages

All started eating as Nandu said talk after having food.

"Nandu it's awesome," exclaimed Navya stuffing the food into her mouth in her all-time Madhubala style appreciating Nandini.

"Haa yaar Nandu this made my day best," said Madhyam not even moving his eyes from the food savoring it happily.

Manik said smiling "it's awesome Nandini" and Rishabh continued "Yeah dii I loved it."

Nandini replied with an embarrassing smile "thank you guys" as she is never good with compliments." 

"Of course it will be awesome. After all whose sister she is?" Cabir said trying to raise his imaginary collars but didn't do as he knows the biryani will leave stains on it.

"My sister" answered Rishabh making all chuckle.

"Okay done with fun now complete food first," Nandini said sternly making Cabir and Rishabh pout and all nodded laughing silently.

After that everyone settled in the living room.

"Nandu?" Madhyam questioned looking at Manik who is talking to Rishabh about something which no one is able to comprehend.

Nandini said "oh yeah Manik?" she called him who turned to her when she said "Sorry I forgot to introduce them. She is Navya, Cabir Bhai's fiance and he is Madhyam. Our friend and we three work in the same hospital and guys he is-"

she was about to complete when Madhyam intervened saying "Manik Mehta right?" Making Manik go rigid and others facepalm mentally and Nandini was literally finding a place where to hit her head.

"Manik go and get ready we need to go," said Cabir after noticing Manik's change in expression who just gave a nod before going to a room which Rishabh guided.

After half an hour Manik and Cabir went to a government office and Rishabh to teach his students as a tuition teacher and Nandini explained about Manik to Madhyam who felt guilty after knowing everything.
