Just by the thought of it, Ryvna agonizes. She doesn't like what is happening. She knew Sir Philip will work on this until he gets into every town he sees. The sooner he finds him, the better.
Ryvna thought she could just go straight ahead to the last town of the west and start there. So she redirected her way into the woods and went off the track to get to the end faster.
With the horse she is riding, it won't be hard to overcome a few obstacles in these dark and barely visible forest trails as her horse is very very experienced and highly competent.
And at last, just as she expected. Going off track is the fastest way to find him. There Ryvna saw Sir Philip from afar getting inside a town. Upon her arrival in the town, the mayor bid his goodbye when she called out Sir Philip's name.
"Sir Philip!" She screamed in relief at finally finding him.
Sir Philip's brows curled in confusion as he sees her there on her horse somehow out of breath.
"Ryvna?" Sir Philip said as Ryvna went closer and removed herself from her horse.
"I am here Sir Philip." She greets the knight.
"Pleasant night to you mister." She greets the mayor as well.
"Pleasant night as well to you madam." the mayor bowed slightly to give respect.
"How far have you told him?" Ryvna asked Sir Philip.
"I just told him we are gathering people tomorrow — What is wrong Ryvna?" a look of puzzlement crossed his face as he answered her.
"I apologize for the disturbance mister mayor but I am afraid we are going to be withdrawing all plans regarding what Sir Philip had told you."
Sir Philip and Mayor Lugwid once again wrinkled their brows as they were taken aback by the sudden remarks of Ryvna.
"Excuse me. What?" what she just said sparked the temper of the calm and collected knight.
"But...this can't be...I'm sorry but why?" even the mayor could hardly believe what Ryvna just said.
"I'm sorry sir I need to talk to her alone." right away she took Ryvna a bit far from the mayor who keeps mumbling by himself about how in the world is the wall not going to be put up right now.
She winced at how much he was dragging her. Ryvna couldn't help but feel frustrated as well at the situation she is in. She knew the trouble she was in.
"What did you just say?" the way Sir Philip scowled at him, she, even more, resented herself.
"You heard what you heard Sir Philip," she said trying to swallow her irritation.
"It meant nothing more than what it meant." she even added furiously trying to keep herself calm. "I went to the Queen's study and she wants none of this to happen. She took back her words simple as that so don't even try to burst your anger at me. Is it my fault?" She held her arms to where Sir Philip just grabbed her to try to contain the slight pain she felt as she said the words she couldn't help but said.
"Oh. And what? She can't just do that. I have already told multitudes of towns. I'm not having it. What kind of Queen does that?"
As much as she understands where his frustration is coming from, she couldn't help but feel offended by what he said.
"Don't insult the Queen, Sir Philip," she said with a voice trying to warn him as if she too is scolding herself when she too questioned the Queen a while ago. "Put some damn respect on her name."
"You go tell them yourself. I am not going back there, withdraw it yourself. " He said as he turn his back on her and went for his horse.
"You know what?...." he goes back on his way closer to the mayor and said, "...It's not happening Lugwid, forget about it, and don't you ever tell anyone," he said before jumping back to his horse and went away leaving the mayor all confused and frozen on his feet.
"He has lost it." No delight in Ryvna's tone when she spoke these words. A knight talking with a high ego is a betrayal of his rank, much more to the Queen.
Ryvna exhaled and tried to contain whatever emotions were starting to boil in her and went closer to the mayor.
"I'm sorry mister mayor." is all that she can say and went out of the town with her horse.
To these knights, this mission is a little too much to ask. Let's just say they are inexperienced in such decisions as it's the council and Queen's job to be made. Maybe Ryvna should have known better who to go to when the Queen's words were uttered. It would have been deliberated accordingly.
The sun is already out and Ryvna just got back to the palace from dealing with all the people in the towns that Sir Philip journeyed upon.
Her hair is damp in sweat, she feels wobbly and tired not only because of the trail she followed but also from the pressure the people of each town that questioned the decision of the Queen.
There were definitely not happy with the news Ryvna got for them and so does she.
"I'll brace myself for some punishment after this." It's going to be a mess after this and Ryvna knew it.
