That did not go as planned

This morning you woke up to Doppio already being in your kitchen. Right now he was setting the table and was making some fried eggs in the pan. He really was serious about doing as much as he can so you'd allow him to stay longer.

"Good morning." you yawned as you walked through the door. "Morning! Did you sleep well?" he asked you and turned his full attention to you.

He even pulled out your chair for you to sit down, to which you couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Doppio, you don't need to do that." you said to him with a chuckle at the end of your sentence. "I just want you to know I will try my best to help you." he then claimed.

"About that, I've been thinking..." you started, immediately noticing Doppio's smile fading into a more serious expression. "You can stay." you simply said, there was no need to phrase it any different.

"Really? That's awesome!" he exclaimed and quickly jumped up from his seat to give you a long lasting hug. After a while he still hadn't let go of you, you gave him a few pats on his back as a sign that he could let go now. He didn't seem to catch the message, his grip got only thightening.

"Thank you." he said a lot more quiet now and finally pulled away looking into your eyes one last time with a genuine smile. "I bet my boss will be just as happy as I am." he said as he walked back over to the stove to put you a fried egg on your plate.

"Yes, for sure." you said, not really knowing how to answer to that. You thought about him doing impressions of a phone yesterday and it was kind of clear that something wasn't as it was supposed to be. For now you wouldn't point that out again, seeing that yesterday he was always trying to change the topic. There was no need to talk about something he might be sensitive about, even if it was your decision whether you'd let him stay you didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.

There were some plans you had for today. "Doppio, what do you say to us getting you some proper clothes today?" you asked him. "Why? I like my sweater." he complained, and hugged his arms around his body. But you told him that he couldn't wear it the whole week without washing it.

"I don't know if my boss finds that okay." was his excuse to which he also added that he could just walk around shirtless for a while. "Doppio I won't let you stay if you don't get some new clothes." you warned and he finally gave in after that.

You didn't want him to change his mind again so you told him that you'd be going to the shopping mall directly after breakfast.

While he was getting his hair ready in the bathroom you put everything to your sink and started cleaning a bit. While you dried a plate you noticed your calendar wasn't where it was supposed to be. That was weird, you don't remember using it or let alone putting it somewhere else.

You simply guessed that Doppio accidently switched its place when he was setting the table this morning. Shaking your head you told yourself to not worry over some simple stuff as that and went on with the plate.

"I'm done." you heard the pink haired man say when he walked through the door. "Alright, let's go then." you said and grabbed some money before you put on your shoes and jacket.

"Do you want to borrow a jacket from me?" you asked him since you didn't want him to get cold outside. "No, it's fine." he told you so with nothing else stopping you the two of you headed out and took the elevator down.

On your way over to the mall Doppio asked you a few questions about your life, and if you had any hobbies. He just tried his best to make some smalltalk with you even if the conversation sometimes felt a bit forced. You hoped that when a bit time passed that he would feel a bit more comfortable around you and didn't have to be shy about anything. He really was a sweet guy and you felt like he just tried his best.
