Tw: mention of blood
Nobody's POV:
Tommy had been walking for awhile now. He feels like he's going to pass out at any moment but continues to walk. Snow dances around he as gets closer to his destination. Techno's house.
Dream had left he alone for once. He would have stayed at logstedshire but he is in immense amounts of pain. His back had started to hurt the previous night but thought nothing of it. Earlier this morning, Tommy had woke up, screaming in pain. He had wanted to find Techno then but knew that Dream would be there to check on him.
He can finally see Techno's house. He has been walking for what felt like hours! He scratches his back a bit because it felt as if it's on fire. He goes over to the door and knocks three times.
Tommy continues to scratch his back.
Phil's POV:
I gather all the blankets and pillows in the house. The bird part of my brain has been telling me to make a nest.
A nest is a place that a flock can get together and look after each other while feeling safe to let the bird part of them be free. Only members of the person who makes the nests flock is allowed in the nest.
I place the blankets and pillows in the living room and start to organise them to make the nest. Techno soon come down too, to help make it. I guess he feel like he has to as well. I wonder why we feel like we have to now.
Just as we finish making the nest, there's a knock on the door. We weren't expecting any guests. Techno gets up to answer the door.
Nest safe. Techno stay in nest! Stay with flock!
Even though he didn't want Techno to leave the nest, I let him. It could be someone important after all. I sit up to stay alert, not wanting him to be in danger.
Techno comes in with Tommy follow behind him slightly.
Tommy pain. Protect. Nest, Nest safe!
I look over to Tommy. He looks as if he's trying to hide pain. I chirp sadly and carefully drag him into the nest. Techno must have explained the nest to him before since he doesn't question it.
"Tommy, what's wrong?" I ask just over a whisper, as to not scare him. I must protect him.
I run my hand through his hair when I realise that he's crying. "M-my back hurts so badly." He hugs me tightly. I nod, I have an idea but I can't be sure yet. I whistle, which ends up becoming a soft chirp.
Once he has calmed down, I stop whistling and ask, "can I see your back? I want to check something but it might hurt."
Tommy nods before pulling up the back of his shirt. It looks irritated. I place my hand in between his shoulder blades to feel a bone. It feels sharp, like it could pierce his skin. He flinched away slightly. As I expected. He's going to get wings!
I smile. I know that the process can be painful since I have also helped Techno when theirs grew in. "Tommy, your wings are growing in!"
He looks back at me scared. "But that hurts!" I frown slightly. I stand up and take him to one of the spare rooms.
"I know, but me and your brother will be here." Just as I say that, he come in with a damp towel and a bowl of water. I lay Tommy down on the bed.
Tommy's POV (cause it would be silly if I didn't):
Phil laid me down on the bed so I am laying on my stomach. Phil plays with my hair as Techno hold my hand. Even though my back feels as if it's burning, I feel safe for the first time in what feels like forever.
I've already taken my shirt off, knowing that it's going to make it worse. Suddenly, a sharp pain fills me as I scream. Someone places the towel on my back, which helps soothe the pain.
After about half an hour, the pain finally stops. I slowly sit up, not wanting to cause more pain. I look down at the bed and frown when I see that it's covered in blood.
Phil helps me walk over to the mirror to see my wings. There about 30cm and a dark red with white tips. I sit back down on the bed and Techno wipes my back and wings. As he does, I fall asleep.
