Chapter 8

Parkers POV

Waking up early in the morning is not something I do. Never. Always being late, never on time, missing school, doctor's appointments, etc. Except for today.

Today is the day all of my family members will take time from school, work, meetings to decorate and shop for Eva's room. Even without her, our family wouldn't spend much time together.

Throwing my covers away I jump out of the bed. Going straight to the bathroom after finishing my business, I go and take a quick shower. Putting my lucky day clothes which consist of my favorite comfy hoodie and jeans. Making my way out of my room into the kitchen.

Javier was there going through a cookbook. "Good morning, Javier," I say making my presence known. He seemed surprised at me. "Today Javier you will be making a special morning breakfast for my baby sister. Make sure it has sugar too, we surely are going to need it today." Javier laughed at me before saying, "No worries." With a smile plastered on my face, I leave the kitchen.

I found myself in front of Evas room. I knock on the door, no answer, so I make the best decision, I enter.

Entering I walk over to her and had an idea. Carefully I lay next to her, enjoying the moment that will surely happen more often in the future. Taking my phone and turning the camera I take a selfie with her. Say selfie.

Click. Turning to face her in hoping that she is still asleep I found her with open eyes staring at me wide. "Surprise," I say in a nervous voice. She yells. Estampie is heard coming to her room. Our father and brothers are looking worried. "What is wrong? What happen?" Everyone asks more questions. " What happened Alec, is that your son came into this room, lay in bed with me, and took a picture of me." Looking up my father was looking mad at me. "It's fine," I say jokingly. But I was not prepared for the words that fell out of Eva. "It's not fine, you could have rape me or touch me in my sleep. You could have taken pictures of my body."

Everyone just stared at her with wide shocked eyes.

"We would never do that." All of my brothers say while my dad just looks at her.

"Excuse me, I'm your brother," I say getting up from the bed to stand in front of her. "Well I can't trust you, I barely know you. You can't expect me to act okay from all of this that is happening to me." She says before going to the bathroom.

"What's going on here?" My mother says after Dallas explained all that messy scene mother looks mad. "EVANGELINE DUKE GRAY! Come out here now and apologize to your brother. NOW!"

"No, Eva is right we barely know each other and today is just about that getting to know each other. Put yourselves in her shoes." Ayton confidently said. "Your right Ayton lets just give her space. Parker don't you pull another stunt like that. Knock if you guys ever go to her room." "Eva, we're sorry if we made you uncomfortable we will be in the kitchen, dear." With that, we left the room.

Eva POV

I should have known not to trust them. Soon they will turn like the smiths. I don't bother to eat, I'll just stay here. Alone, like always. Not everything will be perfect. I can't and don't know anymore. I want to trust them but I can't. Ugh, this is so frustrating. Why can't I just die already?

No, I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of running me over. With that, I left to the dining room.

Alec POV

This morning was not what I expected. I wanted a nice day with my daughter to get to know her. I can't be mad at Parker, but I'm disappointed in him. Eva has a point, but she has trusted us. Why can't she? Is it because of the Smith's?

Sitting at the table I look up to see Ayton glaring at Parker. Ian was lost in thought. Dallas was looking at my love with a weird look. Looking at her, she was eating her food peacefully. It brought me to think of the way she is treating Eva. "Lily, what is happening? You were so happy to have Eva but know that she is here your treating her not great."

"Darling, I'm not going to stand there doing nothing while she insults our sons of such thing. She should be happy that we got her off so bad parents and the horrible lifestyle that she had. But all she wants is to be in that room alone. Ungrateful."

Dallas Pov

Hearing those words that my mother just said makes me mad. That is the reason why she doesn't trust us. We don't know what exactly happened to her. Looking up I saw Eva. Please tell me she did not hear anything.

She sat down and when she did I notice she wasn't wearing makeup. Her face had bruises and she also had a cut on her lip.

"Attention seeker." Mother whisper but it was loud to hear it. My eyes widen at her. Why is she acting this way. Ian looks mad. Everyone that has ever known Ian knows that you don't want a mad Ian. One thing that you should know about Ian is that he and mom never have gotten along.

"Enough, Mother. I'll take Eva with me to stay at my house. Eva go get your things meet me in the garage." Ian said with authority which instantly Eva went to get her bag. " I don't know what has gotten into you but you need to fix it." Turning to father he said, " I have custody over her remember so it won't be a big deal. Now deal with your wife, father. "

"Take care of her Ian and don't worry. I'll talk to your mother." He said.

With that Ian left to the garage.

What a day.
