I wake up to the smell of bacon in the air. I flip over to see my phone had missed calls from Harry and a few texts from Brennen. I rub my sleepy eyes as I went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

When I finish and exit the bathroom, I hear a familiar voice downstairs. I race down and find Brennen chatting with my mom.

"Brennen?" I frown.

"Morning sunshine." he says all chirpy.

"What are you doing here?"

"Rylee, just come sit down and eat." my mom says, making me a plate. "So I heard you and this lovely young man are going on a date."

"Um no," I glare at him. "I said I would think about it and I'd reach out to him."

"I thought you would've said yes if I brought you some donuts." he smiles, pointing at the box of fresh donuts on the table. "I know you've been a little– standoffish about us."

"Well, there really isn't an us." I snap then immediately apologize. "I just- you've been pushing yourself onto me a little."

"I don't believe I'm forcing anything here."

"So you coming over to my house unannounced, isn't forcing it? Just a bit?"

"Rylee, stop being so rude." my mom jumps in. "He was nice enough to bring you some-"

"No, Mrs. Eversteen, it's okay." he keeps a smile then looks at me. "Look, I'm sorry if this was overstepping boundaries, but I did text you last night about it after you dropped me off."

I furrow my eyebrows, checking my phone and I see his name from around the same time my parents had texted me. Right then, Harry's contact appears on my screen, so I quickly lock it before anyone saw.

"I- Sorry, I had a lot on my mind last night. I didn't even see it." I explain.

"That's fine," he says, gently patting my hand. "I guess I should go, but you can make it up to me later." he winks, cleaning up his area and my mom grabs his dish and brings it to the kitchen. "Maybe a dinner date, tonight."

I roughly rub my face and shake my head. "I can't, I close tonight." I tell him then I hear my phone buzzing on the table. "Oh my god!"

"Are you okay?" he asks, looking at me then my phone after I had quickly hit the power button to end the call. I just nod and smile, walking him to the door. "How about lunch then?"

"I- um, I have something to do with Monique." I lie. "Listen, I'll make it up another time. I will text you to let you know. Okay? I'll text you." I say, making sure I was clear.

"Okay, but don't forget."

"I won't." I shut the door before it went on and quickly went up to my room.

Turned out, the last call was from Monique. I call her back and we talk for a couple hours. I finish a few chores for the day and rest before I have to go in to work. I got a few texts from Harry, but ignore them. I didn't feel like talking about what happened last night. I already know what he'll say.

'It shouldn't have happened.'
'It can't happen again.'

Just so many scenarios go through my head of what he'll say. I don't know what to do. All of this is way too crazy for me and I'm allowing it to happen. Am I allowing it because I dreamt it and it ended up being really good? Will this just end up bad because this is reality and not a dream? Or were my dreams telling me this was supposed to happen? Because I've told myself and Monique multiple times that I wouldn't be this kind of person.
