~The Time Luigi Accidentally Ate A Roach~

Summary:
In which Lucy makes the mistake of eating the meal Natsu cooked for her...

In hindsight, she should've known better. 

She knew her best friend like the back of her hand...she knew it was weird when he offered to cook for her of all things.
She also knew he couldn't cook.
In fact, everyone, in general, knew that.
He just looked so excited that Lucy didn't have the heart to reject his peace offering...

She was foolish to think her wild pink-haired teammate had an ounce of sympathy for burning her novel. 

Natsu poked his head out of her kitchen, "I'm done!"

Lucy wished she just stepped back at this moment.
Just stepped back and ran away...but no no no!
She just had to walk forwards, she just had to set her demise in motion!

Her chocolatey irises stared at the plate...it didn't seem that bad...in fact...it looked rather tasty! 
Lucy didn't notice the quiet demonic laughter in the background as she sat down, fork in hand to dig into the fluffy pancakes that her teammate somehow didn't burn this time.

Dipping it into syrup, she stuffed the giant piece in her mouth and...
Crumbly.
Something tasted crumbly.
Crumbly and it tasted like...kinda like dirt.
Pancakes definitely did NOT taste like that.

She glanced at the dragon slayer...who looked hopeful...she didn't wanna upset him...
So...Lucy toughed it out and swallowed the pancake.

It went silent...
Until...

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The blonde practically fell out of her seat, startled from the booming laughter, "H-huh?!"

She was left in the dark as the laughing didn't come to a stop...
Natsu was in hysterics on the floor, gasping for air with tears in his eyes...

Lucy felt her heart stop.
What did she just eat?
What did she just fucking eat?

"Natsu..." 

His laughter almost immediately came to an abrupt end.
Natsu straightened at the tone of her voice, eyes wide with fear as he instantly regretted his life decisions, "Y-yeah Luce..?" 

"What did I just ea-..." Lucy trailed off as a roach crawled out of her plate of pancakes.

Silence...
The room was so tense that you could probably feel it from miles away as the blonde slowly turned to her companion, fork falling out of her hand.

Nauseous. 
She felt nauseous as she grabbed at her stomach.

"Natsu..." She started again after taking the time to attempt to compose herself.

Despite the green tint in Lucy's face, Natsu already began backing up as soon as he saw the deadly aura she gave off because...it was comparable to Erza...and that was saying a lot.

"You have a 5-second start before I kick your ass."

...He never ran as fast in his entire life as he did at that moment.

Now that Lucy is looking back on it...where did Natsu even get real alive roaches from anyway?...
The blonde shivered, quickly pushing the thought aside. 
Nope, she was NOT about to go there.
She didn't need to think about that right now! 

Besides, she already got her revenge.
She glanced back at the boy that was sulking in the back of the guildhall whose face was swollen to all seven hells from the number of kicks and slaps she gave him.

(AN: Just a small one-shot I wrote up!
I unpublished one of my fanfictions, "Spotlight" temporarily. 
No, it's not gone!
I'm just pre-writing some chapters beforehand because I take so long to get the motivation to write it's not even funny!
