Chapter 2

Camille's Pov

As I sat there I realized her mom, Monique, looked at my arm. I immediately got scared. The only person that really knew what's going on is Alana and she doesn't even know all of it, I plan on telling her I just don't know when's a good time. Alana knew what her mom was looking at so she tried to help me.

"What's wrong mama? Why do you look like that?" She said.

"What happened to your arm Camille?" Monique asked

At that moment I almost shit my pants. Alana knew that I was being hit by my step dad but she didn't know that I was being beat everyday I was at home. She asked her mom if I could start coming over from Fridays to Sunday's because I was stressed at my house. I couldn't breath I had to tell them, they cared about me and they always have I get treated just like them, if I do something bad with them I get in trouble too.

I put my head down because I was embarrassed and ashamed.

"Mama just leave her alone." Alana said quietly. They knew about my past, that when I was little my step dad(brothers and sisters dad) beat me.

"No. Alana" I said, "They-you should know"

"Know what?" her youngest brother, Deandre asked

"My step dad's been beating me" I said quietly

"Ron? But he was such a good guy?" her mom said

"No not him, my brother and sisters dad"

"What do you mean, I thought he was in jail" her other brother Jamal said

"He was but when he got out, my mom cheated on Ron with him, and he left her." I stated

"When did this happen" her mom asked

"About a year ago"

"Camille why didn't you ever tell me all of this?" Alana asked

"I don't know I guess I was just scared, I'm sorry"

"Well what else happened?" her mom asked

"So after Ron left, Aaron moved in. And everything changed. At first it was all good but then he started to hit me when I did something wrong,but that quickly changed to him beating me everyday--" Alana cut me off

"What did you mom do about it?"

"Nothing, absolutely nothing. She sits there and laughs or gets high. He doesn't even spank my brother and sisters when they're bad, I'm the only one. Its gotten to the point to where he hits me for saying the wrong word." when I finished her mom was in tears and Alana was on the verge of them. Her mom got up and hugged me and then everyone eels did too. After we all broke from the hug she asked,"Can I see them, the bruises?"

"Yes" and I took off my jacket they all gasped when they saw that I had bruises all over my chest,arms,and back, and that wasn't even all of them. Her brother Deandre said, "Nope, no way he is not gonna hurt my sister like this!" when he said that it made me giggle

"You're not going back for awhile, you can wear some of Lanas clothes" she stated.
