Hey my name is Lexi and I hate family vacations. Especially when the vacation is on a cruise, where you can't just go as far away as possible. There's only so many places to hide.
"Hey! Get down here right now!" My older sister Ali calls. She's 20. I'm only 17. My younger sister Eva (Ava) is 13 so she's chock full of hormones. My parents always compare us to each other, "Lexi! You look lovely, but your sister definitely has a better body for the dress. You need a little bit of cleavage for it.", "Eva! Have you seen what Ali got on finals! You definitely need to step up your game if you want to go to a good college like Alison!"
It's always comparing us to Ali. I'm close with Ali I guess. She lives out in California, we live down in Key West , Florida. I'm lost from my thoughts as Eva yells up,"Lexi Lana(rhymes with banana) get down here!"
Ugh. My middle name is stupid. My parents were supposed to have twins but the doctor predicted wrong. So Lexi and Lana were the names, so hey why don't we just combine the two and thus Lexi Lana Lee was born. I glance at my clock, shoot. 5 minutes. I throw on ripped shorts, deodorant, body mist , & converse. I leave on my hamburger v-neck since I'm in a rush. I run down the stairs just as my parents finish breakfast. Eva and Ali are chatting sipping tea on the sofa. I wish I was pretty like them. Eva has flowing blonde hair that goes to her belly button and bright grey eyes. Absolutely flawless. Today Eva is wearing my new sandals and a high low mint dress. Ali has the same blonde hair as Eva, just shoulder length, but just as pretty. She's the type of girl who can wear a sack and make it look couture. She smoothes her pink high rise body con skirts and striped checked halter top. She threw a sheer grey sweater over top for added effect. She taps her wedge covered feet together. Like she's saying I want to go home, Dorothy style. I see myself in the mirror. I'm like a lana del rey phony. If lana wasn't thin and had hair that could be styled any way and look great. I check my subscriber count quickly 23. My channel is called Lana Banana. And my videos aren't frequent or quality. I snap out of my thoughts when Ali throws a flip flop at me.
"Hey? Sleepy head? You ready?" She says her voice sounds amazingly close to Andrea Russet's. It's crazy.
I grab a granola bar and a bottle of water as we head to the car. This is going to be a long 10 days.
