It is now a few moments after sunset as I write this entry. Mother and I have finished the chores for the day as the boys run rampant in the thicket behind our quaint cottage. Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of Father's callous death. That day returns to my mind even in the most arbitrary moments throughout the day. The boys found his body deep in the wood with various insects making home out of his lifeless body. Mother and I were brought to the remains soon after the boys returned home wailing and crying. Mother dropped to her knees and let out a hideous scream once she came into sight of Father. I walked a few steps further before I saw the horror before me. Maggots filled his eye sockets and slightly agape mouth. Writhing around as hordes of beetles stream to his exposed wounds. I swiftly ran back to Mother. I will never forget that repulsive sight. But I still do wonder, what happened to him?
