SKYE
I can't believe I'm doing this; I SINCERELY can't believe that I'm actually doing this! No, not I-that would be too selfish of a word to put into this scenario! No, it's we, not I. I can't believe that WE'RE actually doing this!
I admit, Raven did bring up some good points a couple of days ago about no one being heroes and protecting the weak and innocent from the strong who are corrupt in the head. But at the same time, we're just kids! Don't get me wrong, I'd jump with Raven into Purgatory if it meant saving a life. But actually, becoming heroes ourselves?! This is something that grown-ups should be doing, not kids!
Then again, the grown-ups themselves are either born normal, Abnormals that would rather hide, or Abnormals already corrupt. So yeah, I do see the importance of us making this sacrifice. Because as Raven said, who else would do it if not us?
"You okay Skye?" I hear Celia ask me, snapping me out of my own thoughts, "You seem very sweaty."
"Oh yeah," I reply in a shaky voice, wiping the sweat from my forehead, "sorry about that. I'm just really nervous. I'm trying not to be, but it's kinda hard."
"I know how you feel," Celia quips with a smile, "we're about to face certain death by finally standing up to the Man! The evil and corrupt, and we're going in head first. I can see how that can make you nervous."
"Wait," I say, looking at my blue-haired friend, "you're not at all nervous? Or, to put politely, terrified?"
"Heck naw!" Celia shouts with glee, raising her fist up over her head, "Are you kidding? I'm excited! We're finally old enough to do something about the evil and corrupt. And the best part about it, we're able to do it together! Woo hoo! Go The Fortunate 7!"
I can't help but feel a smile spread across my face, admiring the girl before me. She's a tad taller than I am and thin with long blue hair over jade green eyes and lightly tanned skin. She's wearing a long-sleeve light purple steam-punk dress along with a blue lily in her hair and long black motorcycle boots decorated with baseball stickers. Even though she's an unusual tomboy, Celia is just as beautiful. Her spirit dissolves any uneasiness left in my body, making this whole thing a bit better.
She's a constant reminder that no matter what we face, we'll do it as a team.
It's always better to be with your friends than to be alone, especially in his situation.
"Hey Celi," Joan says, making Celia and I look at the two seats afront away from us on the other side, "be careful! We don't want to break the windows and have to pay for them before we can save the world."
"Sorry Joan," Celia replies, trying to contain her excitement, "but I can't help it. I'm excited!"
"Well," Maya says in the seat behind us, we turn to look at her as she stares out the window, "let's just hope that we can get there and find a place to sleep before your voice goes out of whack."
I chuckle slightly as I look at Maya; I know that it has been three years that we've been together and I know that I should be used to it by now, but for some reason it still surprises me when Maya says slang words since she was born and raised with proper etiquette. Maya is four inches taller than Celia with long wavy-spiked red hair that reaches the bottom of her back over icy blue-green eyes and pale skin like Raven's with a birthmark of an icy blue Arctic Lapugos on her right wrist. She's wearing a long-sleeve hooded red shirt over black short-shorts and special design black leather Shiora boots with black leather choker-type cuffs around her lower thighs above her knees and a long strap connecting the cuffs to the boots by some type of silver buckle. It's kinda a suited style for her, because it shows her personality in full.
