waking her for cuddles

"Goodnight, baby," Miyeon mumbled and kissed your cheek sweetly before she turned off the light and laid her head on her pillow.

You lied beside her, wide awake as she began to drift off to sleep. The thunder made you jump on occasion, but you were pretty comfortable in her bed otherwise.

It's the first time you're staying the night with her and you didn't exactly plan on it. You're not complaining, though; far from it.

The storm came suddenly and hit hard, making it impossible for you to walk home. It was safer with Miyeon and as soon as she gave you the offer to stay the night, you couldn't refuse.

She had a long day before your date tonight so it didn't surprise you that she was so exhausted. But you didn't expect for her to fall asleep so fast. Because as soon as her head was on the pillow, she was drifting off into a peaceful slumber.

You tried to do the same, but you felt a little cold, and every time you were even close to drifting off to sleep, a crash of thunder or the pouring rain would awake you.

You wanted to curl up with Miyeon, but you wondered if she'd even want to cuddle when she was about to fall asleep.

For a few minutes, you tried to convince yourself that you'd fall asleep no problem. You tightened the covers around yourself to keep yourself safe and warm. But you were restless, unsure if you'd fall asleep without feeling the comfort and warmth of her embrace.

You hesitated but soon reached over to lay your hand on her back. She jumped from the sudden touch of your cool fingertips against her skin and woke up a little confused.

She craned her neck and looked at you. She cracked a tiny but sleepy smile before she rubbed her eyes through a yawn.

"I thought you'd be asleep by now, y/n. Especially since you looked so tired before we came up to bed. Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry I woke you." You mumbled, only for her to shake her head and turn over so she could brush her hand along your cheek ever so gently.

"Don't be silly. It's more than okay. Tell me what's wrong."

"I can't seem to fall asleep. I'm kinda cold and a little scared if the storm. I want to cuddle, but didn't know if you'd be up for it."

She chuckled and opened her arms for you to crawl into.

"You should know by now that I'm always happy to cuddle you, my love. I'm here for you. Now try to sleep. I love you. I won't let you go."

You laid your head on her chest and felt her tuck you in under the blankets before she put her arms around you to hold you tight.

You started to fall asleep, finally warm and relaxed in her arms.

"I love you lots," she whispered in your ear. "Sweet dreams, my girl. Hope you sleep well tonight."

"I will now that you're cuddling with me." You mumbled sleepily in return, unaware of the giant smile on your girlfriend's face. "I love you too, Miyeon."

And with that, you drifted into a peaceful slumber, feeling warmer and safer than before.
