Summary: Harry finds a ferret and decides to keep it.
Harry walks out of the castle and to the black lake. He sits by some grass and hears something rustling in the grass. Harry looks over and sees a snow white ferret. Harry stats still and the ferret sits on it's back legs and has it's front paws up. It sniffs at him. "Hey..."
The ferret runs over to Harry and sits in his lap. "What are you doing at Hogwarts?" The ferret looks at him then decides to claw up his shirt. Harry feels the fur tickling him and laughs. "Let's head inside. Harry pulls the ferret from his shirt and holds it in his arm.
The ferret rolls over and lays on his back. harry goes back to the castle and sees Hermione and Ron. "Ron! Hermione!" Harry goes over and the ferret moves to sit on his shoulder. "Cool, you have a ferret!" The ferret looks at Ron. Hermione smiles. "Is a male or female?"
Harry looks at the ferret. "I haven't checked yet." Harry picks the ferret of his shoulder and looks at Hermione. "How do I check?" She sighs. "A female ferret will have a smooth stomach whilst the male would have a bump on their stomach..."
Harry turns the ferret around and runs a thumb over its stomach. He feels a small bump. He sets the ferret on his shoulder again. "It's a male..." "The female must be close, if he has a mate..." Harry looks at the ferret. "I'll keep him so a while..."
The ferret cuddles into his neck and wraps himself around the back of his neck. "We have to be getting to the common room, come on..." Harry goes to his room and takes the ferret off his neck. "Okay, not on the bed..." The ferret looks at him with sad eyes. "No, off..."
The ferret goes up to a pillow and lays on it. He curls up and closes it's eyes. "What's the worst that could happen..." He strips and lays down. "Hey, can I tell you something?" The ferret looks at him with wide silver eyes. "I know a ferret wouldn't say anything but, I can talk to you right?"
The ferret crawls over and lays on his chest. "Well, I know you don't the people at this school..." The ferret looks at him. "I have this stupid crush on a kid... I absolutely hate him..." The ferret feels a heaviness in his chest. "You must be happy with your mate right?" The ferret looks at him.
The ferret shakes his head. "You understand me?" The ferret nods. "A-are you a real ferret?" The ferret shakes head. "Y-You're a student?" It nods. "Do I know you?" the ferret nods slowly. Harry picks him up and holds him close. "Malfoy?"
The ferret starts squirming and hides under the covers. "Malfoy..." Draco pops his head out. "I'm not upset, how are you a ferret?" The ferret shrugs. "We'll figure it out tomorrow... out of the bed." The ferret looks at him and makes a crying sound. "Fine, stay in here..."
The ferret jumps around. "Go to sleep." The ferret crawls under the blanket and falls asleep.

Harry wakes up to a shuffling. He looks over and sees Draco, who is tying his tie on. "Malfoy?" Draco turns to see Harry awake. He stops tying his tie and turns to him. "You're not a ferret anymore..." "Must have been a short lasting spell..." Harry nods.
"Hey, about what you said about having a crush on someone you hate..." Harry turns away. The bed moves and Draco moves Harry's head. Harry looks at him. Draco looks at him. He presses his lips to Harry's. Harry's eyes widen and he pulls away. "W-what..."
Draco looks at him and pecks him on the lips. Harry smiles. Draco looks at the time and lays on the bed again. "Didn't sleep at all last night..." "Why?" "I was a ferret!" Harry laughs and kisses him. Draco blushes and takes his robes off. Harry looks at him. "Too not in here for robes..."
