Hope Defeated [Editing]

Ghosts - Day 9

I walked into the room, and straight over to the bed. I kicked it as Griffin jumped up

hitting his head on the wall.

"What was that for Miranda?" He questioned, slightly pissed off. I laughed helping him up and beginning to go downstairs. Today was a scouting day, we are running low on provisions.

Everyone gathered as we heard a crash, one person yelled 'canabals' so every body got out their weapons and turned to the front of the neighborhood and the partial wall.

We saw a group of people knocking, they all had on masks. I pulled out my gun instead of a machete and walked up, with Jimmy warning me not to. I limped slightly luckily no one noticed.

"What do you want." They turned to me as the tallest girl walked up to me, I snarl at her. She had long blue hair in a hairband. She was about three inches taller then me and wore a white plain mask on her face.

"We are looking for Miranda." I stiffened at her words.

Why are they looking for me?

"Why."

"We need to kill her." I tall boy snorts at me. I growl as I put away my gun, they think I'm letting them in but as they advance I pull out my machete cutting across the girl's mask.

She stiffens as it falls off and I see her face. I don't recognize her and I didn't expect to, so I kick her when she's distracted. She falls back into the taller boy's arms.

"How can you..." The girl begins with a french accent, as she realized that I was Miranda.

"That's her you dumb ass." A girl about the same height as me mumbles. Another girl and a boy step out grinning. They look identical, both wearing half a white mask.

"Well let's kill her." As they both come at me I stand up straight, which momentarily confuses them, the I cut both of them with my machete. They fall back as the girl comes at me with a spear, which I flip out of her hand and kick her away.

Finally the boy drops the girl and pulls out a two sided katana, holding it to my throat. Then he pushes my hair out of my face and I see his eyes freeze and get big under the mask.

He puts his face close to mine and I try to back up but he stops me.

"Run." I waste no time as I back up and Griffin comes up behind me. I practically jump onto him, trying to get away from these dips. He looked at them with a serious face as he pulled out his blade and gun.

"Get behind me." I actually listened and stood behind him weapons drawn. He snarled at the group and soon was joined by more people.

The group stood as the girl looked at me shocked. She finally got up aproaching me and Griffin threatened her I pushed his weapons down.

"You are the first target we haven't been able to terminate. How?" She touched my head, examining me. I backed away slightly, uneasy.

"Adalie, please don't touch her." The boy warned the girl, Adalie.

"Shut it, Ryder." The boy, assuming he was Ryder looked shocked.

"Can I see her?" The shorter girl questions, as Adalie nods backing away.

"Hi, your Miranda right? I'm Lucy." She smiled a bright smile as I waved only slightly confused.

"Who are they?" I asked pointing to the two who looked alike.

"They are twins, the girl is Dawn the boy is Declan." I nod as they all take off their masks except the taller boy. The twins look almost exactly alike.
