I look beside me to see Ginny looking at this ugly white girl I never learned the name of. Our mom had us when she was our age 15. So, We got the sex talk when we were only seven but it wasn't your typical birds and bees crap. Then again there's not much typical about our mom. I look over and see this guy Ginny has been crushing on look at her and ask "Do you have a pen I could borrow" and she gives him the pen she was writing with to him and I give her the are you kidding me look and she just looks at me and shrugs.

The girl comes over to him and he says hi she says hey and she tries to take the pen from him and then says in that stupid voice you're such a loser and she walks away and he follows and Ginny reaches forward and grabs her pen from his desk.

A lady at the door calls "Virginia Miller and Grace Miller. Can I talk to y'all in the hall for a minute?" We look at each other and then walkout

"Virginia" She starts with but Ginny corrects her "It's Ginny" She doesn't care and continues "Your stepfather has been in an accident. Y'all's mom is on her way here with your brother. I'm so sorry you guys. He didn't make it." And she proceeds to hug us. When I'm just thinking yes it killed him that's what he gets for touching Ginny.

We look at his body after this lady hugs us and Austin walks over to us and we hear this lady talking "Poor Amber Lynn. I know they had their problems with the divorce, but still, she must be devastated. Have you seen the new wife? Who shows that much cleavage at a funeral?" The other woman says "Tacky" Ginny walks over to them with Austin and me trailing behind and bumps her shoulder and Ginny says "Oops, Pardon me. I tripped." Then the lady scoffs and walks away.

People are surrounding our mom and she lifts her head "Kenny was the best. The best. After being a single mother for so long, he was like a godsend. He was wonderful with the twins and Austin. He treated them like they were his very own." Then I hear the annoying bitch behind me again "Well, they weren't his own, yet they're getting all his money. Giving poor Davey's inheritance to that... trash. He was a bastard." And mom says "He was an angel"

Ginny's driving and Austin and I are sitting in the back seat singing with mom "But she caught me on the counter" "It wasn't me" "Saw me banging on the sofa" "It wasn't me" "I even had her in the shower" "It wasn't me" "She even caught me on camera" "It wasn't--" Ginny cut off the radio "Hey" Mom said

"I'm sorry do you think this song is appropriate for the nine-year-old in the back."

Mom looks at her toes and says "Oh please. He doesn't understand any of it." She looks back at him and says "Austin, what's this song about?"

He looks at me and I put my finger to my lips saying I don't want him to tell them I told him. He says "Doing it on the bathroom floor and getting caught and lying about it so you don't get in trouble" and mom laughs while Ginny smirks at her and mom waves him off "go back to your harry potter game"

"What are you wearing? you look like Vanessa Hughes at Rydell High." I ask Mom

She looks at me and says "The fact that your Rizzo is Vanessa and not Stockard is everything that's wrong with your generation.

"Stockard is great but Vanessa surprised everyone. Who knew?" I said as leaned on the side of the car and Ginny put her elbow up.

We stop at a gas station and Ginny is filling up the gas tank and this white cop glares at her and Mom comes out of the store and walks over to us and Ginny asks "Was that was racist?. That was racist. Guess we're not leaving that bullshit in the south. What was with you? "Hi, Mr. Officer." You sound like bad porn."
