"Sofia! Answer your mama right now" Mom yelled from downstairs. I'd been crying the whole day and she's been yelling the whole day. "Mom, I don't want to come down right now I'll come down later!!" I replied wiping the tears from my face.
We lived in the rich side of the neighborhood and sadly they are all stuck up and such snobs on this side. I didn't ask for this life but my mom earned it. My mom had me and most of my siblings when she was a teen. It's been hard on her so I try to be realistic in times that it's needed.
"If I were at dads he wouldn't yell because I don't want to come down!" I finally said after a bit of silence. My mom and dad divorced two years ago and they live completely different lives. My dad does not live on the rich side, I don't mind, I'm not stuck up and snobby like the others.
"Then go to your dads!!!" My mom replied right outside my door.
"You know I don't want to do that on your days mom!" I said a little frustrated even though I brought dad into this.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Mom said opening my door. I didn't lock it because if I lock it I'll be alone forever.
"Yea" I said trying not to cry.
We talked and talked about me and her job but she seemed off while talking about it. I made sure she was alright before going to eat dinner with Shelby, Noah, and the twins, Kayla and Jacob.
"Pass the salt please." I said as I cut into my steak.
Me and my siblings don't have the same dad so I'm only here on the weekends. "Okay" Shelby said passing the salt.
Shelby is the oldest, Noah is the middle child, and the twins are the youngest. We all have different dads. Shelby's dad died when mom and my dad got married. Noah's dad is in prison. The twins dad is out of the picture. My dad is the only one who is still around.
"Kayla, Jacob no phones at the table." My mom said taking their phones and putting them in her office.
Kayla and Jacob are the youngest but they are in 8th grade. Noah is in 9th grade I'm in 10th and Shelby is in 12th. I know it's crazy but my mom could catch men like you can catch nothing while fishing.
"Jacob, how was school? Mom told me about the fight." Noah said sounding to interested to sound like he was mad.
"Shut up Noah you couldn't beat up an 8th grader if you tried!" Jacob replied leaving the table.
"Jacob sit back down this instance!" Mom said standing up and yelling.
"No mom I'm tired of this family and your kids who don't even have the same dad!" Jacob said.
"Jacob that's not nice" Kayla replied quietly going after him. She's the only one he listens to since they actually have the same dad.
We have all said what Jacob said to mom and learned from it quickly. But that is the last time she would get told that and that was a fact.
"Mom, just because we have different dads doesn't meant we do not love you." I said trying to comfort her.
"Thank you baby. Goodnight kids. Don't stay up to late. Sofie your dad will be here tomorrow to pick you up." Mom said leaving to go to her room.
"Night mom" we all replied and left the table.
As I went to my room I noticed something weird written on my door. It said "go back to your dads we don't want you here" I almost cried reading those words.
