Lizzie

January 7th was just another day for me, until it changed my life. Forever.

"ELIZABETH! WAKE UP! IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY BACK IN SCHOOL!" I wake up to the sound of my mom's loud voice.

"OKAY OKAY. I AM UP MOM! IS ELLIOT UP, TOO?!" I reply as I cross my room and grabbed my uniform which hung neatly on my closet door.

I moved quickly and opened a drawer in my bureau and got my underwear and socks. My brother is UK's slowest showerer ever so the need to beat him to the bathroom is always there.

"NO, WILL YOU PLEASE WAKE HIM UP FOR ME?" My mom's voice once again echoed from the kitchen below.

"WHAT ABOUT NO? I'M GOING TO TAKE A SHOWER NOW. YOU KNOW HOW SLOW THAT LITTLE MONKEY IS!" I retorted. I am not taking chances today. Or any other day after this.

I rushed down the hallway and into the bathroom before my mom could even reply. I stripped out of my clothes and stepped inside the tub.

It took me about 10 minutes to finish showering and get dressed. I exited the bathroom and saw that Elliot was already waiting outside the bathroom.

At 13 years old, Elliot was short for his age but he was a lady's boy. He was popular especially for being the first guy in his class to have his first kiss.. with an older girl.

"Hey midget! Have a good night's sleep?" I asked him as I tousled his hair. He looked nothing like me. He was blond and blue eyed and I'm pretty sure he's going to be quite a stunner someday.

I'm a brunette, and my eyes are brown too. At 5' 5", I'm neither tall nor short so basically, I'm the ambassador of plainness. There's nothing special about me except for my above average IQ, though I still think the school counselor switched my results with someone else's.

"Oh for goodness's sake, do not call me midget!" Elliot said, obviously irritated with me, which was the reaction I was going for anyway so I smirked at him and headed back to my bedroom to fix my hair and my things before going downstairs for breakfast.

"Morning, Carson." I greeted Katherine, my next door neighbor slash friend slash classmate, a few minutes later. We always met up in my front lawn before we walked to school.

"Good morning, Lizzie. Feeling blue today, aren't we?" She greeted me back. I wasn't really feeling sad or anything but Kat didn't get those kind of things. She's too pleasant for sass.

"Ehh, not really. Shall we go now? I reckon Sam, Holly, and Brad are waiting for us already." I replied as we started to walk. There used to be more of us but all the rest of our group are now in uni.

Well, except for Harry, he's out there living the pop star life since 2010. Kat didn't even get to know him well since she just moved when he left to join X Factor.

School was just a five minute walk from our street, Holmes Chapel wasn't a big place. As we entered our school's gate, three figures came running toward us.

Holly got to us first her blonde hair a mess and it formed a halo around her head in the sunlight.

"I told you I'll outrun you, cunts!" She shouted over at Brad and Sam who have just arrived and were starting to slow their pace.

"We let you win, duh." Brad said looking to Sam for support on his statement.

"Yeah, Mayfair. We're gentlemen." Sam supported. He went and grabbed Holly by the waist and slung him over his shoulder.

"Oi, put me down!!!" Holly shrieked as her fists thumped uselessly against Sam's broad back but there was no stopping Sam when he carried you like that. Not until he could drop you in your chair in first period at least.
