Chapter 6: Lazari

I stared at her, frozen in place.

"S-Slenderman...where did you find her..."
"Just outside the woods, she was grieving over her mother."
"She didnt happen to...hang herself has she...?"
"Avaline..." Slender picked up Lazari. "Now's not the time, we'll talk later."
I blushed in embarrassment and sunk onto the couch.
"Jack! You better not be eating on my couch!!" Slender yelled.
Jack shoved the rest of the kidney in his mouth and chucked a bit, looking over at me.
"Avaline? Are you okay?"
I shook my head a bit. "No...I don't think so..."
Lazari waddled out of the kitchen and stopped at the arm of the couch, staring at Jack with big eyes. Jack looked over in her direction and raised his eyebrow.
"Uh...hey kid."
Lazari blushed and waddled back into the kitchen. Me and Jack stared after her in confusion.
"What was that about...?"
"I think she likes you." I teased, trying to lighten my anxiety.
"Don't fucking start-" he grumbled.
I giggled a bit and laid back into the couch, taking a deep breath.
"So what was that about her mom and where she came from?" He asked, flipping through some channels on the TV.
"I...think I had a vision."
"About the kid?"
"Yea...I'm not sure but...I think she's dangerous."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm not completely sure, but she gives me a very creepy vibe."
"Maybe you're just overthinking it."
I narrowed my eyes. "Is it overthinking when I worry about not only my safety, but also when my teeth are sharpened out of nowhere, and I now have a taste for organs??"
Jack stared at me for a bit.
"Okay, I'll give you that."
"Avaline...?"
I yelped and saw Lazari sitting in front of me.
"How do you know my name?!"
I backed into the couch, staring at her.
"Will you play with me??"
She looked up at me with big eyes, then sniffed the air a bit, turning her attention to Jack who was mindlessly flipping through channels.
"That smell..." she muttered, shuffling over to him.
"Uh...Slenderman...?" I called.
No answer.
Lazari was already back to the arm of the couch next to Jack.
"Hungry..."

Next thing I knew, Lazari had lunged herself at Jack.
"HOLY SHIT!!"
She bit deep into his arm and held her teeth in. I screamed and immediately ran to pick her up get her mouth to open. Jack was yelling in pain and I was trying to open her jaw up.
Slenderman raced in as soon as she let go, taking Lazari from me.
"WHAT THE HELL?? WHAT IS SHE?" Jack yelled, holding his bleeding arm.
"I'll get the first aid!" I said, running to the kitchen.
"I'm sorry..." Lazari said with a sniffle.
I turned the whole kitchen over till I found the first aid and rushed over to Jack.
"THE HELL! SHE BIT ME!!"
"Consider it a punishment for eating on my couch."
"Slender!" I yelled in protest.
"Please don't be mad..." Lazari whispered.
I ignored her and immediately started working on Jack's arm.

The door opened, Jeff and Lulu walked in, coming back from another session.
"And that's when you tell them to go to sleep." Jeff said.
He turned and saw Lazari, looking over at him with big, puffy puppy eyes.
"The fuck...?" He pushed his greasy black hair out of his face, making sure he was seeing things right.
"HI!" Lulu said cheerfully, her pigtails bouncing happily behind her.
"Lulu, stop saying hi to everyone-" Jeff groaned.
Slender set Lazari on the couch next to me and left to grab a few things. I froze up, trying to focus on Jack's arm.
"Careful..." Jack groaned. "She bites..."
Jeff froze for a second, then started smiling mischievously.
"Oh Avaline. Mind if I borrow -"
I picked Lazari up and shoved her in Jeff's hands.
"PLEASE." I said. "Take. Her."
Jeff smiled happily and took Lazari with him out the door. I sighed and looked up at Jack who was staring back at me.
"Sorry... I wish I could've helped better than I am."
"It's fine." He sighed and turned away from me as I wrapped up his arm.
He held onto my forearm, squeezing it gently as I wrapped.
"Do you think it was bad that I sent her off with Jeff...?"
"Avaline, she fucking bit me."
"I know, I know. But I have a feeling I messed up somewhere."
"If it makes you feel better, thanks for the bandages..." Jack muttered the rest, turning away from me.
I smiled a bit and closed the first aid.
"Of course... can I get you anything else?"
"Kidney...?"
I frowned. "Jack, do you really think thats a good idea?"
"Please?"
I sighed and narrowed my eyes at him. "No."
"Fine..." Jack sighed and pouted dramatically.
"What are you doing?"
"You do it too!"
I blushed in embarrassment.
"I...who told you that?!"
"Not important."
I puffed my cheeks up and sighed dramatically, falling onto the couch.
"Now what are you doing?" He asked.
"Oh I just thought that roles were reversed today..."
He chuckled a bit and sat up.
"Alright, alright I'll stop."
I smiled at him and stood up, stretching.
"I should probably sleep..."
"Already?" Jack sounded a bit upset.
"Oh I'll be back in a bit, don't you worry. You can tease me to death then." I smiled at him reassuringly.
He stood up and gave me a very brief, awkward hug and let go quickly.
"Thanks..."
I froze a bit and smiled.
"Awe look, you're learning already."
He sat back down and turned away from me, flipping through the channels again. I skipped my way up the stairs into my bedroom and closed the door behind me, not expecting the next vision I came across as soon as my head hit the pillow.
