Chapter 1

In one of the district near the king palace, a young little boy can be seen outside of his old and broken house. His name is Son Y/N an ordinary boy from a very poor family, his family can be said as the poorest on the entire district, but despite that he's still a happy and bright kid except for some moments he will turned upside down and become a very timid and full of afraid.

"Son Y/N, you ungraceful kid where are you???" His father the sole reason why he always get scared everyday, the person who only give him terror everyday called him.

"Y-yes f-father, I'm o-outside" he answered with a trembling voice.

"Come here or i'll smack your face again" his father said harshly to him.

With a trembling feet he quickly go inside to his father, who are now laying on the floor bowl of alcohol can be seen scattering around and the smale of alcohol is so strong that by smelling it can make a person drunk, but being afraid of his father Y/N behave himself even though his body is already trembling in terror only by being near his father.

"Ya!! What takes so long for you to come?" He immediately welcomed by his father shouting at him.

"S-sorry f-father" he apologized, he can't even look at his father right in the eyes, and can only look at the floor.

"Forget it, get me another food" his father ordered him, but he just stay on the exact place, which make his father angrier "why you still here? Get me some food now!"

"W-we d-don't have a-any foods l-left father"

"Then steal some like how you always do"

"I-i'm afraid f-father, i w-was caught the l-last time, and t-they said t-they will k-kill me the next t-time i do it" he already started crying because of how scared he is both from his father killing gaze and also the thought of stealing again.

"Do you want to die now or get me food? It's your choice"

"A-alright father, i'll s-steal it for you" with so much hesitation, the young boy go out from his house and off to go steal some food while hoping that he'll be safe.

A lot of noices can be heard on the market. It is a very crowded that people can't walk without bumping into each other, Y/N can be seen in the middle of the people. His little and fragile body keep getting pushed by other people, but he keeps walking to the place where he wanted to go, once he reached the place he saw that it's very crowded and a lot of people are there.

I'm here, now i should be careful and steal as much as i can. I should do it stealthy so i won't get caught

Y/N then start to take food one by one, he took some bread vegetables and fruits basically everything he can eat with, after he think he take enough he carefully left the scene. He thought that he successfully stole without getting caught until suddenly someone shouted.

"Hey that kid over there stole your food!" Someone said to the owner, Y/N who heard this immediately run to save his life.

"You again, come here!! I'll make sure to kill you this time" the owner chase him, Y/N keep running scared of what might happen when he get caught "stop running you thief" the owner with his longer legs manage to shorten the gap between them, Y/N tried his best but to no avail he still get caught in the end "got you" the owner catch him, and raised him up with his hand.

"Please mister let me go, me and my father haven't eat and we're all hungry, please just this time let me go"

"No way, you have stole a lot of times already, and beside i already told you that you'll be dead if i caught you again. So here's your punishment" the owner throws Y/N harshly to the ground like he's a peace of trash, he then start kicking and punching Y/N's little body mercilessly, the people who are there only watching no one even have the desire to stop them.

"That's your punishment for stealing my things" he said to Y/N after finish beating Y/N, he then take the food Y/N take and bring it back to his stall, the crowd are slowly walked away from away and leave Y/N there laying weakly on the middle of the road, he tried his best to get up but to no avail he failed, until one girls with something covering her face help him up and bring him somewhere quiet.

"Hey are you ok?" The girl asked Y/N after they sit at this quiet place.

"I'm not but thanks for helping me. I owe you something, but i'm so sorry i can pay you with anything" Y/N thanked the girl for being the only who lent him a hand to help him.

"It's ok, but why did you stole those food?" She asked curiously.

"We need something to eat, father asked me to steal some food so i did it"

"Why he said that? Didn't he have work to do so you can eat?" She asked with a hint of anger towards Y/N's father.

"Well we're a poor family, we always have a difficult time to eat something"

"I see.... Wait here for a minute i'll go back to you" the girls said to Y/N before leaving somewhere. Few minutes later she comeback with the food Y/N took earlier with her "Here take this" she handed the food to Y/N.

"W-what no i can't" Y/N refused it and try to give it back to her.

"Just take it so you can eat, i give it to you sincerely" she said to Y/N with a warm smile on her face even though it's covered Y/N can still feel the smile she gave to him.

"T-thanks.... ummm i Don't know your name" he thanked the guys and tried to get her name.

"Hahaha sorry but it's better if you don't know my name, but i hope everything will be alright for you. I'll leave now" she said to him, he looks very confused by her but decided to just keep it in for herself.

"Thank you so much" he said to her before she goes away, Y/N then immediately got up and Walk back to his house, he can't help but become a little bit happy because he knows that his father won't beat him for not getting any food.

"F-father here i-is the f-food" Y/N handed the food to his father, he still look a little bit scared but he's more relaxed because he think that his father is satisfied, but to his surprise his father become angry and throw the food towards him.

"This again? How many time we eat this shit? Come here you stupid" he angrily said to Y/N and grabbed his body harshly to somewhere in the house.

"Nono please father don't do it, i beg you father please no" despite all the begging he did, his father won't hear any of it and the second round of him getting beaten up started this time it feels worse because of the damage that he already got from earlier, he started to lose his consciousness from all the beating he get and before his father finished he already lose consciousness.

Y/N woke up after he passed out for who knows how long, he still there on the place where his father beating him up at, but now he's there alone and the sky already turned black, with so much struggle he got up and walk to the front of his house, when he walk there he get pass the food that his father threw earlier. He felt really bad for the girl who give it to him so he take it off from the house floor and put it somewhere as a reserve, he takes a little bit of it and go outside from his house. The sky are so clear with a lot of stars, he can see the palace from his house, he start to imagine if he was born as a son of the king.

"If i just happen to live there, will my life get better than this?" He said to himself, but he quickly snapped to reality that it's not possible, he can only sigh after realising that it won't happen to him at all. After he finish eating he go back inside his house and immediately go to sleep, while hoping that his life will turn better by some miracle.
