"Wake up Chloe its time to go to school" my mom yells from downstairs. "Ugh okay" I say as I roll myself out of bed. I get up and go to my bathroom to brush my teeth and comb my hair. I go back into my room and sit down at my vanity to do my mascara then I put on jeans and a T-shirt and a pair of vans. I pick up my keys and my backpack, grab a banana and hop in my jeep and drive to school. I walk into school and see my friends Rikki and Alyson waiting at my locker. "About time you get here we have been waiting for you for twenty minutes" Rikki says "ugh don't be dramatic Rikki." We walk to class and count down the minutes because this is our last day of sophomore year and we are going to Galveston for a week with our other friends Shirah, Emily, and Gabby.
It gets to be lunch and I get a call from my mom. my parents got divorced when I was in the 7th grade and my mom finally got a boyfriend. "hello" I answer.
"Hi honey I just wanted to call and tell you that we are going to dinner with my boyfriend and his son tonight"
I haven't really ever met him except speaking to him on the phone once before so I guess it's about time because they have been dating for almost a year.
"Okay that sounds good mom I'll talk to you later"
"Okay bye honey"
"Bye"
"Who was that" Emily asks.
"It was my mom. Were going to eat with her boyfriend and his son tonight"
"That sounds exciting" says Shirah.
"Yeah I guess so" I say
The bell rings and we all walk to our next class.
I can hardly stay awake in history until my best friend Sam starts poking me in the back.
"Samuel Richardson, if you do not stop poking me" I whisper.
We have been really close friends since the 4th grade. I liked him for a while but gave up because he never liked me back.
"Hey now, this is history class, you need to pay attention, this class will help you with everyday life" he says sarcastically.
I giggle and then the bell rings again, one more class left.
"You know Chloe, you need to get out there again. Ever since you and Justin broke up, you haven't been yourself."
It's true I haven't been myself. He was my other half and he cheated on me.
"Sam it's not that easy."
"You a beautiful charming girl why don't you think it's not that easy?"
The bell rings
"I have to get to class" I say
And we both walk to our next class.
