Ch. 5/ Dance

Chrisy: Where's the hair spray?

I handed it to her.

Holly: I need a bobby pin!

Chrisy: Here

I took it from her,

We were getting ready for the most important dance ever in ninth grade.

Chrisy: Easton will be here with his mom to grab us in 10 minutes! We better get dressed!

She ran and got dressed since she was done with her hair. I still was in the bathroom curling mine in the back and bobby pinning a little twisted section to the back side part. She came down.

Holly: Chrisy you look awesome,

Chrisy: Awe thank you,

I smiled

Chrisy: Your turn!

Holly: Okay

I went upstairs and I got my dress on and put on my high topped black chuck Taylor's because there was NO way I was wearing high heels like Chrisy was. I can't walk in them! I came down.

Chrisy: Oh my god,

I smiled.

Chrisy: You look amazing!!!

Holly: Haha thank you

Mrs Sarafini: Oh my gosh Holly

Holly: Hahaha thank you,

Mrs Sarafini: I want a photo of you two! I want to remember this moment of my two girls growing up so fast!

Me and Chrisy laughed and her mom took a picture of us on my phone, Chrisy's phone and her phone. We heard a beep and we looked outside.

Chrisy: Ooh Easton's here! By mom!

Holly: By mom! Hahaha,

Mrs. Sarafini: Bye girls love you, have fun!

We left out the door and we got in Easton's moms car.

Chrisy: Hey

Easton: Hey babe,

he kissed her.

Easton: Hey Holly you look great, haha who knew a dress and Chuck Taylor's would look so good together! Haha,

Holly: Awh thanks! You don't look bad yourself!

We drove to our school.

Chrisy: Yeah the gyms huge,

Easton: Yeah I wonder what it'll be like this year,

Holly: Oh yeah, Easton you're in tenth grade,

Easton: Yeah, last year I went with this girl I didn't really like just to have a date and it was really boring but now that I'm with the best girlfriend, maybe it'll be better,

Chrisy: Awe I love you!

Holly: Hahah,

Chrisy: Hey where's Ty anyways?

Holly: He's going to be there, he promised.

Easton: Good, we don't want our best friend to be alone,

I smiled. We got to school and got out of the car and went in.

Holly: Woah,

Chrisy: Wow,

Easton: Yep definitely better than last year,

It looked really cool! We went to the gym where the dance actually was.

Easton: Your brothers here?

Holly: Yeah they rode with their friend Josh.

We went in and saw a ton of outlet friends and people we knew. We all said hi and Chrisy and Easton went to dance. I'm surprised Ty's not here yet, I sat down by the punch table. I got a text. It was from Ty,

😘 Ty-Ty😘: I'm sorry Holls, I won't be there tonight 😢 I'll make it up to you, I promise this time and I won't break it! ❤️

I couldn't believe it, he ditched me the night of the dance. I turned my phone off and sat there. The song ended and Easton and Chrisy came over to me holding hands.

Chrisy: Where's Ty?

Easton: Yeah?

I read the message he sent me to them.

Chrisy: Awe Holly, she sat next to me on my right.

Easton: Awe I'm sorry Holls, he sat on my left. I was really upset now. I thought I was going to cry right then and there.

Chrisy: I don't know what to do, I put my head on her shoulder.

Alex saw me but didn't come over. A slow song started. It was a long one too that I knew.

Chrisy: Awe I love this song,

Holly: Go Chrisy, I don't want to ruin your fun night,

Chrisy: You sure, she looked at me.

Holly: Yeah, go have fun I forced a smile at her trying not to cry.

Easton: Okay thanks Holly, I'm sorry, he hugged me.

They went on the gym floor and slow danced with the other couples. I sat there still. Alex left his group of friends and came over to me. He held his hand out, I looked up at him.

Alex: The least I could do is offer my baby sister a dance, He smiled.

I smiled and took his hand and we went to the dance floor and slow danced too. He already made me happier.

Alex: So tell me, what's wrong?

Holly: Ty ditched me,

Alex: Really, what a jerk

Holly: Yeah

There was silence for a moment.

Holly: I just wanted this night to be perfect you know, just look at Chrisy and Easton,

We did and they were laughing, slow dancing too, just having a good time together.

Alex: Yeah I know, the fact that I didn't get a date, made me think this dance would be the worst,

Holly: But now it's clearly not, because I have an amazing brother, and he's always there when I need him.

Alex: And I have the best sister ever and I always know how to make her happy when she's sad, and to just have a good time wherever we may be.

We smiled and he hugged me and I hugged him. Chrisy and Easton made their way over to us. A faster upbeat song started and we all laughed and had a fun night after all, even if I went with my brother as my date.
