Severus' POV

He walked down the corridor, his head hung down low, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone who walked passed him, his eyes were empty of any excitement a sixteen year old like him should had have because it's the first day of school.

Another year, another chance for them to plot my downfall.

He would say this in his mind with so much venom that it almost hurt.

He had finally made it to his destination: the Potions classroom.

No one else was there, for this he felt relieved.

He had planned all of this on Friday night, that night is on the top ten list of embarrassing things that had happened to him over the years of attending Hogwarts.

Let's take you back a bit ok?

Friday night the whole of Hogwarts was celebrating the start of a brand new year, and the sorting ceremony for the new comers.

Severus was surrounded by the first years, he ate slowly and looked around the hall for anything that he would be interested in. If he was being honest, he wasn't feeling pretty well, he had lost his bestfriend last school year, and because he didn't have any other friends he was feeling a little lonely.. ok he always felt lonely, but at least he could always look forward to seeing lily.

Just then Severus heard the voice of someone he hated the most, he hated alot of people, but this person just knew how to get under his skin in the worst ways possible.

"Everyone! Everyone listen up!"

Severus jerked around to the voice he heard from across the hall, there he saw Sirius Black standing on top of one of the Griffindor tables, there black held his wand up to his mouth as if it were a microphone. His voice boomed across the hall and he got everyone's attention.

As student after student turned their heads to the Griffindor table Black yelled again.

"I've got an announcement everyone, we all know Snivellus correct?!" He said this with what Severus considered a creepy smirk.

Murmurs broke out upon the crowd of students, the nerves in Severus' stomach swelled up as the eyes of the crowd all turned towards him.

Severus saw Mcgonagall get up to silence Black, but Dumbledore placed an arm in front of her as if to say 'sit down and let him speak'

"Last year, around the time of Summer break Severus snape had professed his love for Lily evans, but was unsurpringly rejected!"

The whole Hall including Severus gasped in shock, he snapped his head to look at Black, to find the Griffindor staring him right in the eyes, for a moment Severus felt the emotions in his body pleading Black to stop whatever he was doing, he knew those emotions portrayed in his eyes so he stopped to glare at the Griffindor, however black seemed satisfied with this and smirked a very nasty smirk at the slytherin.

Severus felt his knees sink to the ground, leaving his chin on the edge of the table.

This situation couldn't possibly get worse.. he groaned.

Oh but it did..

He watched from the slytherin table as black said something else.
"Haha! Not to worry! I do have solid proof, in fact.. I have the whole conversation right here!" Black pulled out a small recording device, and suddenly the whole hall was quiet. "This! My school mates is a recording device, I recorded the whole thing and you will be able to hear it!"

Without a second of hesitation he pressed a button and the voices of Severus and lily could be heard.

"Lily.. you have to believe me! Their dangerous! You should stay away from them!"

"Oh?! And their more dangerous than the bunch of deatheaters you hang around?!"

"L-lily look i-"

"No! Enough of this Snape! Listen. to. me! I never want you to talk to me ever again! I never want to look at your disgusting face! And most of all I'll never want to be friends with you ever again!"

"No please lily- wait, i- i love you!"

Lily stopped in her tracks.

"Sev- snape, you embarrassed me, you hurt me, you called me a- a- ...you know what you called me, obviously you've changed, and not for the better. I would never want to be in a relationship with you, much less being friends.. I'll make this clear, I want nothing to do with you"

There was the sound of the door slamming as she left Severus all alone in the empty classroom.

The recording ended there, Black had stepped off the table, receiving a high five from Potter as he sat down.

The whole Hall was quiet, not even the breathing of the students could be heard. Suddenly after everyone took in as to what just happened the hall was loud again, but this time with laughter.

Every one in Hogwarts who have unfortunately have an encounter or witnessed one with snape, have thought the boy was incapable of love, even so they had thought that the boy had a crush on his friend, however on this lovely friday night their suspicions were confirmed. No one could believe the nasty scary dungeon bat was this pathetic.

Severus looked around the hall to find every student laughing at him, he quickly got up and ran towards the exit of the Great hall, nearly tripping over his own two feet on his way there.

It felt like a nightmare, Severus had never left his dorm room all weekend for fear of having to face anyone.

"Alright students! Welcome to the first day of potions class for your sixth year, I hope you all enjoyed your summer break, today we will be looking at blah blah etc etc.."

Severus was snapped out of his day dream of what happend last week, thankful for being pulled from the nightmare he straightened his back to pay attention to Proffessor Slughorn, at least he had his favorite subject to look forward to this year..
