It was a hectic day. A day that'd been long coming throughout Estella and Harry's relationship and most were surprised it hadn't happened sooner. It took a lot of badgering on Harry's part for Estella to agree to a wedding date after he proposed a year prior which had honestly been one of the best days of her life.
Ron was tasked with distracting Estella while Hermione and Harry prepared. Harry always had connections as 'The Chosen One' and he certainly used them that day: the first to gain access to the Hogwarts Express where the two first met, the second, which he didn't need a favor for, to ask Mrs. Weasley to prepare Estella's favorite foods, and the third to repair and add to the ring her father had given her mother twenty years ago.
Technically she had two rings and would receive a third on the day of the wedding; the first, her mother's ring, and the second, Lily's. Both held a special place in her heart and represented the love they fought and died for. Without them, neither Harry nor Estella would be here. They lived one within their children and there was never a day Estella didn't think about her father's sacrifice. Words couldn't describe how greatly and deeply she missed him. She thought they'd have more time. She wished they had more time.
Estella knew the moment they Apparated to the grass-filled hillside in Scotland on August 30th what Harry was going to ask. And she knew, without a doubt, she'd say yes. Teddy was supposed to stay with his grandmother for the week since they shared custody with her, and Estella knew why Harry had asked Andromeda if they could cut that week short. Teddy was to celebrate with them tomorrow.
Harry had cried after he asked the question, though it was due to how long she took to reply. She'd never been lost for words before. Of course, she said yes, but the words came after tears fell from her eyes in copious amounts; prompting Harry to think she would say no.
And here she was, on the beach near the house Estella and Harry had purchased shortly after the war. The beach where repeats of what occurred on the beach of Shell Cottage occurred. The beach where Teddy had taken his first steps while they had a picnic. The beach where she came to accept her father's sacrifice and accepted that even though he was gone, she could still feel him.
"Are you ready?" asked Hermione. She stood beside Estella in the grand mirror looking as radiant as ever in the powder blue dress. Charlotte and Sienna stood ways behind her, sporting the same colored dresses but in different styles.
She nodded but lingered in the mirror. Her eyes scanned the length of her dress. Sienna had taken a mockup of Aurora's dress and modified it to match the dress Estella desired. The dress was relatively simple but made with intricate designs; borderline see-through and embroidered with lace. Her hair sat in a carefully done bun with waves or curls trickling down the side of her face. Her one of many "something borrowed" and "something blue" was the hair clip holding her hair together given by Mrs. Weasley. She almost cried when Mrs. Weasley set her down after their engagement party and gave it to her. Her neck was highlighted by a simple diamond necklace that belonged to Lily Potter and the bracelet on her wrist from Sienna's collection.
"You look beautiful, Estella," said Charlotte as she moved beside Estella and gently nudged her shoulder. "If that's what you're worr-"
She shook her head. "I'm not worried," she laughed before turning around.
"You aren't? Even I was nervous when I married Fred, but those nerves stemmed out of eloping and a fear of telling Molly," Charlotte said, her eyes scanning Estella's face for signs of distress.
She laughed again.
"No, I could never be nervous with Harry," Estella said confidently. It wasn't a lie. The day Harry made her nervous was the day the world ended.
