{mystery P.O.V}
I find myself mesmerized as I look up at the ceiling within the old town theater where the crocodile is floating through clouds chasing after captain hook... For a moment, I feel at peace, but what is it that they say? "All good things must come to an end"? I guess they must be right because I suddenly find myself being brought back to reality by Alexandria saying my name for the fifth time in a row. Unamused, I look up at her with what I imagine is a less than enthused look as I ask her what it is she wants.
"Can we talk?"
"Yeah, sure, what's up?" I say. Waiting for her to tell me what she wants so that I can once again be left alone.
"Can we please talk in private? It's far too important of a matter to talk about here...in front of them.." she says, looking around at the other members of our society.
With a grunt, I stood up from where I had been sitting. Walking out of the theater, where we had been watching the 1995 version of "Mortal Kombat.". I make my way outside the theater to the upstairs office, where I sit down and wait for her to speak.
"Bastion?"
"What do you want, Alex?"
"Geeze, you don't have to be so rude, Bastion!" she huffs. "I mean, seriously, you're lucky that I even like you. Do you know how many other guys would die to be with me??!"
" by all means, go find some other guy because I already told you I'm not interested."
"Seriously, Bastion, why are you acting like such an asshole!"
"What do you want, Alex?" I ask, beginning to feel increasingly more irritated at the current conversation. She begins to head my way until she is standing right in front of me.
Placing her hand on my arm, she begins to stroke my arm and chest before looking up at me with her blond hair and green eyes making brief eye contact "you know you're only kidding yourself, we were meant to be together, and you know it...". She says with a soft lilt in her voice.
Grabbing her hand, I pull it away from my body, turning myself to face her leaning closer so that she can hear me. "We are not meant to be together, and I don't want you..." " My brother may have been blinded to the type of person you are, but I am not. If anything, this little stunt of yours only proves that you are not the person he thought you were." I turn, beginning to walk away when she marches past me, placing herself between me and the door seething with anger.
"You need to fucking get over it, Bastion. He's dead. You're the only only one still sulking about it!"
Shifting my eyes to look at her, I can feel the muscles in my body tightening with anger before glaring at her. "You were his fiance, Alex, and you act like you don't even care! You know why I could never... and I mean never love you???" "I'm going to tell you why and if it hurts, I don't even care at this point you are a heartless bitch. Go home before I make you go home. I can't stand to look at you right now. Your absolutely fucking unbelievable, you know that."
We sat a moment before the sound of lincoln yelling up the stairs cuts through the tension building in the air between us.
"Hey Bash, We are all gonna head over to the bar if you wanna go!?"
"Nah, man, I'm good. I have some stuff I gotta do."
"Alright, man, well, you know where we're at if you decide you want to hang out."
"Okay, man, see ya later!" I turn and look at Alex, who is still standing there seething, giving me a death glare "leave." She lets out a screech before fading away.
I take in a deep breath before letting out a sigh... I reach up and run my fingers through my hair. "Finally, I'm alone," Relieved that the entire situation was finally over and done with. I walk down to the bathroom and splash water on my face using my shirt to dry off really quick. Grabbing a beer from the mini-fridge, I turn and open the door, and go back into the theater. Cracking it open, I take a drink as I make my way to where I had been sitting earlier.
I turn the corner and what I see stops me dead in my tracks. I find a young woman who looks to be in her mid-20s is sitting right in the middle of the floor. She is just sitting there gazing upwardly towards the ceiling in an almost peaceful trance. She has loose chestnut curls that sit just below her chin. Wearing black converse and a knee-length blue cotton dress. I get closer to get a better look at her when she turns and looks at me with the most beautiful hazel eyes I have ever seen.
That's when it hits me...
...she can see me...
"What are you doing here?
She looks back at the ceiling. "I don't know dreaming, I suppose?"
"What makes you think that?"
"Well, I fell asleep at home, and then I was just here," she shrugs. "So I just assume that's what this is a dream."
"Sooo... What if it is?"
She stands up and looks into my eyes before walking over to me."I'd do this...". The next thing I know, she's raising herself onto her tiptoes, sliding her hand behind my neck, drawing me in closer until...
She kisses me...
