Worst News Ever

Avani's pov

I woke up hearing the sound of my older sister Shanti yelling at me.

Shanti: "Wake up vani! We are expecting guests."

I rubbed my eyes annoyed my parents are always having guests over but they never told me about it this time. I was a bit confused because they always let me know.

I quickly got up and did what I had to do in the morning that's when I saw Shanti rush over to me holding a dress.

Avani: "Shanti, it's too early for this seriously."

I watched as my sister laughed at me and picked up some heels from my closet.

Shanti: "You do realize it's 6:30 pm you've slept almost all day."

Avani: "Yeah because i'm a human being and I need my sleep."

Shant: "You don't even do anything."

Avani: "Yes i do, I just graduated and now I started college this week so shut up geez"

Shanti: "Whatever just know to be respectful and have manners you have 30 minutes to get ready."

Avani: "Yeah I know whatever"

I rolled my eyes and watched as my sister walked out the room and close the door behind her. I looked at the dress she placed on my bed I wasn't even in the mood for this.

-12 minutes later-

I was all ready and I began to make my way downstairs. I watched as my mother came towards me.

Mom: "Finally you're up and ready the Reeves will be in here in 5 minutes."

I was a bit confused on why the Reeves will be coming. They have the second largest company alongside with my families. Out of all the families why are they coming here.

Avani: "Why are they coming over?"

Mom: "You'll find out when they get here sweetie."

-5 minutes later-

I was standing by the door with my sisters Shanti and Priya greeting the family as they each walked in. When I saw a boy he was tall with short brown hair and brownish eyes. He was kinda attractive I was guessing it was Mr and Mrs. Reeves's son.

Mom: "Guys come over to the dining table for dinner."

I made my way to the dining table and sat at my sit to the boy sitting down next to me. I sigh and became slowly eating my food that was placed in front of me by the Chef.

Mrs. Reeves: "Does Avani know about it..?"

Dad: "Um..no we haven't told her yet."

Avani: "Tell me what!?"

Mrs. Reeves slowly turned her head towards me which was making me kinda nervous. I feel like there was some huge news I didn't know about.

Mrs. Reeves: "Well dear...you and my son Anthony will be getting married."

Avani: "M-m-married.."

Mr. Reeves: "Yes dear the wedding will be in two weeks."

My life is ruined I tried to calm myself down before I started having a panic attack. I'm getting married to a stranger a guy I don't even know why did it have to be this way. Just because I didn't wanna work in the company didn't mean I have to marry some guy I don't even know.

Mr. Reeves: "This marriage will be a huge success for both of our companies."

Mrs. Reeves: "My son won't be able to take our company till he marries you Avani."

Mr. Reeves: "All you have to do is sign a contract Avani are you okay with that?"

I didn't know what to say at all. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed I wasn't expecting this at all. I looked over at my parents and they gave me this death stare and I quickly looked back at Mrs and Mr. Reeves.

Avani: "y-yes sir"

Mr. Reeves: "Sounds great before the wedding you'll be hanging out with my son to get to know him a bit starting tomorrow."

Avani: "n-nice ... well can you guys just excuse me for a bit."

I quickly walked out of the dining room and went out and sat on the bench. I couldn't believe this at all my life is over officially. I didn't think my parents would do this to me.

I felt someone touch my shoulder and I looked up and saw Anthony. He looked at me like everything was gonna be okay.

Anthony: "Can we talk!?"

Avani: "About?"

Anthony: "Just because our parents are making us get married doesn't mean I like you so get that in your head."

I pushed Anthony's hand off my shoulders and stood up. I really wanted to go off on him but I couldn't I didn't want to cause drama since I just met him.

Avani: "Ok? First off don't touch me unless it's around our parents and I'm only doing this for my parents not for you"

I walked off inside and sat back down at the table trying to listen in on what my mom, dad, and Mr and Mrs. Reeves were chatting about.
