kairis been so distant. our relationship is breaking. the way he looks at my friends with the most lustful eyes. I wondered if he ever looked at me that way. i doubt it.

"hey"
behind me in a deep raspy monotone voice says. it was mattia. we've always had a crush on each other, since middle school. only problem is, we're best friends. we've seen each other grieve and laugh. since diapers.

"hi big boy matti"
i turn giggling throwing my hands around his waist.

"oh uh, let's go to class"
mattia tells me with an uncertain face

"but I need my books from my locker?"
i then notice kairi staring at me. he's next to celia. mattia was trying to distract me. right when we make eye contact. he kisses her.

i gasp

"y/n let's go"
mattia softly says as he takes my wrist and leading me the opposite way of kairi.

"no, I want to go this way."
I pull away and walk right pass kairi not giving a care in the world.

"yo y/n wait up"
I hear a gentle voice call my name. it was kairi.

I turn facing him. completely ignoring kairi, i smile at mattia that was right behind him.

"hey mattia let's go"
mattia smiles and comes running like he saw the love of his life calling his name.

"alright"
mattia says grabing my hand and taking me to the exit door of our highschool.
i freeze. i turn.

"by the way kairi, just wanted to let you know. i'm better off without you. i derseved better. i deserve better. thanks to you, I found my person."

i signal mattia's hands and i clutched together. he looks at our hands with jealously. i grin and walk off, leaving kairi speechless.

"did you mean that?"
mattia gently whispers into my ear as we leave.

"with every bit of my body."
we grin to one and other. i place my head on his shoulder and giggle. kairi and i weren't meant to be. mattia and i were. we're in love. true love.
