The soft glow of the brilliant moon-light, the gentle taps of both their footsteps, the evergreen trees covering them like curtains, it couldn't be more perfect.

"Romeo...what are we doing? Why must we run from our love?" Juliet gasped out, seemingly holding her breath because of their close distance.

Romeo pauses, unsure of the proper words to speak or the pleasant phrases he should say to calm his beloved's fears. "I am not certain whether we will ever be free from the world's expectations. Although I will promise you one thing, one day we will be happy, I swear it."

Juliet's hopeful gaze rests on Romeo's eyes, "W-what if we just tell the world? Let's tell our parents! We must! It's the only way!"

The latter chuckles, "I wish it was that simple. Oh, how much I wish. But, in order to be together, I suppose it is the only way-"

Juliet grabbed both of Romeo's calloused hands between her own. Lightly smiling and a twinkle in her ever-hoping eyes. "This will work!"

She then pulled her partner along, through the beautiful garden they use to hide from their parents, through the courtyard, and down the eerie hallways which are now empty from late-hours in the night.

"Romeo!" A man called out to them, a small voice nor a large one per se, though it did catch their attention nonetheless.

They turned around and stopped in their tracks, their loyal friends Friar and Mercutio could be seen standing together leaning on a marble pillar just a few meters away from the duo.

"What are you two doing so late at night uhm..." Friar looked at their intertwined fingers while raising an eyebrow. "hand-in-hand?"

There was a silence, a dreaded one. They haven't proclaimed their love to their dearest friends yet, afraid they might try to convince them to stay apart.

Romeo and Juliet glanced between each other, hesitant to reveal anything to them. Just like clock-work, Mercutio began to speak up in the tense atmosphere.
