Januari 2018, I went back to my home town, Palembang city, two flights away from Bangkok, Thailand. Rückkehrunruhe swabbed down all my childish memories. Some roads totally changed some didn't.
Then I noticed something that really pull my interest, the city are furnished with a lot of billboard and poster of politician. I did not put my concern on their credibility or achievement as well I do not know them personally, I only feel some certain thing, the energy. The energy was felt so strong, the personification.
The billboard was printed on vynil and periodically changed or remove to replace with a new one. My friend luckily could get one of them then brought it for me for my painting canvas. It was 6 meter by 2 meter which I cut into several big pieces.
The painting process was literally responsive, all colors specially chosen and mixed following the colors that already there, as existing element. The painting progress was not to cover the existing image but just to transform it into another thing.
Energy, according to Einstein, in mathematical equation is energy equals mass times the speed of light squared, but also he said "energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another" thus this painting was made to transform the energy, and the only technique to do the effort was Impressionism with a little vapor from nature, the gravity. That's it.
