A few days later, Roman walked to his twin's room, his heavy boots thumping against the ground, echoing in the dark halls. Every one of the sides had a room put in one overly long hallway, however as it moved closer to the more negative sides' space, the hall became darker and much more eerie, instilling fear in those who so much as dared cross the line between Dark and Light.
Roman reached a room, it's door covered in overgrown vines, the wood rotting, and a bitter smile reached his lips as rapped his knuckles against the door. He heard a few footsteps shuffle across the floor, the sound stopping after a moment. He recognized the rustling of locks and chains and frowned, tilting his head slightly. Perhaps it was just his brother and his crazy, seemingly out-of-nowhere ideas, but something in the back of his mind made him think that he put all those locks on there for a reason, despite how odd that reason might be. He brushed the feeling off as the door opened, and smiled at the sight of his disheveled brother, who seemed relieved to see that it was only his brother. His relief was replaced by a happily manic expression as he finished opening the door, leaning against the chipped plaster doorway.
"How can I help you, brother of mine?" He asked, a grin tugging at his lips as he looked Roman over, and Roman noticed that his voice was hoarse, as if he had been screaming or crying. Roman took a deep breath, rubbing his fingers together, gently digging his nails into the skin, a nervous habit.
"Well, actually, something happened this morning with Janus and-" He started and Remus' expression darkened, and he moved back, allowing Roman to step inside the jungle-like space. "I know." Remus started, taking a deep breath, before continuing. "Janus told me what had happened, and he let it slip what he said to you." He laughed, the sound bitter and almost sad. "God, the way he tried to defend himself, it was fucking disgusting, you know? Said that he was only finishing what you started, but really, why did he have to bring me into it? I thought I was his best friend." He said, looking down. "I'm not evil, I'm not fucking evil, you know that, right?" Roman could tell Remus was trying to hold back tears, only because his smile was more forced than usual, and he placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, gently rubbing it, trying his best to comfort him. "I know. I know you aren't, and that's why I came here. I want to prove that we're so much more than they say." He paused for a moment. He was having second thoughts. No. He needed to say this, they needed to do this. It was for the good of the Mindscape.
"I want to fuse."
