That night Jungkook could not sleep, playing the conversation between him and Jimin over and over in his head. He wondered if this hadn't all been some sort of set up. Was he an only child for a reason? Did all of the events of his life lead up to this moment. How long had they been watching? Thought after exhausting thought bombarded him until the weight of them caused him to close his eyes and sleep. But in his sleep he found no peace.

Jimin appeared in his subconscious once again. Over and over he mocked Jungkook until he was begging and pleading. It was so overwhelming that Jungkook actually cried while still asleep, but Jimin did not stop. And then when the tired king thought he could take no more, Jimin uttered devastating words which startled Jungkook awake.

"Do you really think ____ loves you all on her own?"

A hand clenched over his chest, he sat up in his bed unable to breathe. Suddenly his mind began playing tricks on him...lying to him. Could it be that you didn't love him...that it was all fake and part of the plan? But it felt so real. He knew it was real, it just had to be. Why would Jimin even mention something like this? Jungkook glanced over at your form before standing to rush and wash his face with cold water. It took him a minute for him to calm down and then his rational mind came back to him. Jimin was lying. He had to be lying. This dream was just a way to get Jungkook to comply with his wishes. Of course you loved him. He just knew you did. No one else has loved him like you and he'd be damned if he believed a power hungry witch. No...you did love him...really and truly loved him. No one could fake a love like yours, a love that was evident even in your womb.

Jungkook made up his mind. The next time Jimin showed up, he'd tell him straight forward what his choice was and no one would alter that decision. You belonged to him forever and always and he'd kill anyone that dared get in the way of that. This was not over.

In order to pretend like he was not affected, Jungkook called upon his royal court, planning extravagant feasts and entertainment to lift the heavy veil from the castle. The servants responded quickly, doing their best to prepare these events on such short notice. By some miracle they were to put together a party that took a few days to make ready, but of course their fear was a great motivator and Jungkook expected nothing less. If they were going to fear him anyway, why not push them further on the threat of decapitation. He didn't care if he was loved or hated as long as they did their service. He'd been labeled evil since the moment he was born so evil is what he would be.

Of course through all of his dealings he kept you sheltered. He didn't want the poison of those around him to get to you. The pressure of being a leader was already great and the added ignorance of the people was something he wanted to keep you from. Inside of you grew his entire life and he didn't want to burden you with the stupidity of his people. His kingdom never even gave him a chance to prove himself, but you had...you loved him even still. And it was precisely this love that drove him to work harder to make things right. The future of this province depended upon any and all decisions Jungkook made, and even if his son was born with physical signs of the curse, he would never treat him the way he'd been treated.

Whether or not the people accepted his son wasn't the issue- they had no choice in the matter. His mind was set, and regardless of a curse or what a witch said, his line would continue. Fuck the witch and whatever contract he presented. If Jungkook had been able to find love, surely his son would be able to as well.

He couldn't account for all the other Jeon men, but he knew deep in his heart that his love was real. No witch would get in the way of that. It was clear that the dreams he'd been having were all filled with lies and it made Jungkook even angrier. The lengths this Jimin took just to make him fold were extreme. He didn't know why this witch was out to get him. There were so many questions he still had, but one thing he never doubted was that you loved him, body and soul, and a curse was not going to stand in the way of that.
