      "Run!"
Taylor bolts in-front of me trying to put as much distance as she can between us and the cop cars.
She was a fast girl, with her small size, slick hands, and quiet persona she was the perfect person to get into trouble with.
Her short black hair flops as we pick up speed, I stay on her toes. However, my lunges were burning as if I had hit the worlds largest blunt. She darts left into an alley, and I turn quick on my heels. There was a fence up ahead, not too tall but there was barbed wire, which definitely was not a plus. I throw some of the trash down in order to buy us a little time. Taylor doesn't pause as she takes her sweatshirt off while running, she throws it over the barbed wire, and starts climbing. She carefully climbs over just as I get half way up. Jumping to the ground, I follow in hot per-suit.
I jump down taking the now shredded sweatshirt with me, and I feel my ankles burn as they hit the hard ground. "Stop or I will be forced to shoot!" I hear the cop call loudly behind me, I stop momentarily as does Taylor. We had some distance from the fence but he could definitely hit us. Just as we started to think all hope was lost there was a screeching of tires!
Taylor and I both smirk at the cop as the van pulls up separating the cops and us. The doors are thrown open and Owen screams, "Get in dumbasses!" We jump in, and the cop starts firing as we launch down the road. We picked up speed fast enough for them to not be able to get the license plate. But either way we had to trash the van, I mean there's nothing more suspicious than a van with bullet holes in it.
Now you may be thinking, what could two 21 year old girls be doing to get shot at, and have a ready get away van? Let's just say we have a taste for the finer things in life, and where better to get those things than the protected mansion of Andros Soski the CEO of Soski Inc.
"This was supposed to be a lowkey robbery! What the hell happened?"
Taylor stays silent per usual, and I say, "Let's just say the tech wing is guarded heavily, and someone likes to cord strangle security guards unconscious." Owens eyes fall on Taylor who in return smirks.
Owen sighs raking his fingers through his hair, "At least tell me you got it." Taylor reaches into her pants pocket and pulls out the tiny black flash drive.
We all smile triumphantly, on that tiny flash drive holds the names and identities of some of the richest people in the country. All business deal information is on that flash drive. Crazy how such a small thing holds such great power. People will pay a lot of money to get something like that.

I yawn loudly, and roll over snoozing my obnoxious alarm clock. "God it's about time you turned that damn thing off Zara, it's been blaring all morning!" That would be my equally obnoxious roommate Layla, she's the sweetest girl ever but sometimes she just can't shut her mouth.
"You know you work in 20 minutes right? Why aren't you there?" I roll my eyes, "Layla it's fine I'm just an assistant anyways." She scoffs, "You just got this job, you need this job! The Kade empire needs people like you to be able to function, haven't you read any of the articles on River Kade? He's ruthless, you need to go now before he fires you on your first week!"
After this big bust last night I might not even need this job. But Layla doesn't know about my... skills and she doesn't need to. It's safer this way. We struggle to get by even with our cheap one bedroom apartment.
Layla is the only person to give a shit about me for almost all of my life, it would absolutely break her heart if she found out I lie, and steal to get the rent each month. I climb out of bed, and throw on the outfit she had already prepared for me the night previous. I run a quick brush through my hair, and apply a quick red lip.
"Ooo look at you all business professional! Classy black tight skirt, white top, and sexy red lip to go with it. If I looked like you I'd run the world Zara!" I smile slightly at the compliment then give her a quick peck on the cheek, "I gotta go, I'll see you at 5. You get the popcorn, I'll grab the movie."
She smiles, and high fives me. Movie night was our favorite, granted she picks the Notebook every time she gets the chance.

I walk into the building exactly 1 minute late, and have the front desk sign me in. I am executive Charles' assistant. He's a laid back guy as long as the works done, and I bring him his five sugar two cream coffee each morning. I swing into the building kitchen, and throw the coffee together.
Walking into his office I notice he is having a heated discussion with some man in a flawless black suit. I knock on the door, "Sorry to interrupt sir, here's your coffee. The files you had me put away yesterday are on your conference room desk." Charles looks up at me, he was an attractive young man with sharp blue eyes, and full lips. Everyone here was young and beautiful, which is something the corporate prides themselves on.
The man in the suit turns to me with cold fiery eyes, "You're late." I furrow my brow, and manage my temper. "I'm sorry sir." I have no clue who this jack ass is and I don't want to.
The man flips causally throw a black file reading it silently before speaking, "Onizara Lynx, 5'3, 122 pounds, lives on 128 west Main Street, no prior knowledge of business, no college degree, and is just barely skating by." My eyes widen in disbelief, why the hell does he know all of this, and why the fuck is he reading my personal information out loud! That's such an invasion of privacy!
That's a bit hypocritical considering I just stole millions of people's information but... still!
            "Excuse me?"
He looks at me once more, eyeing me up and down. I felt my cheeks rise with blush under his heated stare. "Your parents went a little crazy with the name didn't they." I gap at the pure audacity of this dude.
"I'm sorry but this is none of you-." He rudely cuts me off, "Do you like your job here so far Ms. Lynx?"
"Who even are you-!" He cuts me off once more, "I asked a question Ms. Lynx." I look over at Charles he sits silently with his lips pressed in a thin line.
"I asked you a question as well if you'd just let me finish-."
Once again he speaks over me, "Actually," he says pretending to think. "It doesn't matter whether you like the job or not you need this job. So knowing that you need this job you must obviously like it. Don't ever be late again Ms. Lynx. Matter of fact I expect you will be 20 minutes early every day you are expected to be here now."
Now I was boiling, I don't need this job I just hit the god damn lottery outside of this place. The only reason I "need" it is to keep my facade up for Layla!
"That is absolutely absurd! I was one minute late. ONE!" I yell at the man.
He raises a brow slightly not expecting to be spoken back to, then he chuckles lowly.
"I couldn't give a damn less if it was one minute or one hour Ms. Lynx. I believe you heard me just fine." I glare at the man harshly, and I knew at this point I would not be able to hold my tongue.
The only thing more irritating than this man telling me what I will do, was the fact that he might have been the most jaw droppingly handsome man I'd ever laid my poor eyes on. He was young maybe in his 20's. His dark sharp features complimented his confident and powerful persona. His eyes were a deep brown, shaped by god himself to inflict fear and lust in any woman. Hell, maybe even men.
"Just who the hell do you think you are?" I state harshly. I saw Charles visibly flinch for whatever was about to take place.
That's when he takes large strides over to me, and looks me dangerously in the eyes, "I am River Kade. The owner of this whole goddamn place." My blood runs cold by the pure dominance that came over his voice, it made me want to completely shut down and do whatever he pleases. Hell it made me want to be here 30 minutes early every day for the rest of my life.
Pushing those feelings aside I spoke up, "Congratulations Mr. Kade. You market yourself well." I had expected him to completely blow up, and demand I leave the building. However, despite what I may of thought what happened next through me in a whirl wind.
He laughs, he genuinely laughs. Then he lowly says, "Be in my office in 10 minutes on the dot. I expect you won't be late Ms. Lynx?" I nod slowly trying to process what was happening.
