~Anything For Her~

Warnings and Disclaimers: I do not own iCarly, nor do I own the song in this fic, check the A/N at the end of the chapter for the title.

Beep Beep

Freddie's eyes slowly opened to reveal glistening chocolate orbs under the sun's proud rays. His eyebrows knitted together as the bright light from his unshielded window and put a hand over his face.

Beep Beep

Oh, that annoying sound. His other hand that wasn't on his face reached out over the side of his bed to the bedside table where the source of the noise sat. He practically slammed it, shutting it up successfully.

If he remembered correctly, yesterday he and Carly went over to the old apartment to... reminisce. He took her home after that and watched the rest of the videos by himself. Yesterday was a Saturday.

He got up and took a shower that woke him up effectively. After that, he dressed in a casual outfit approriate for walking in the park and made himself a sandwich in the kitchen. He took it with him to his room and went straight for the brown box where the old videos where. He burned them in CDs.

But he wasn't going for the CDs. He was looking for his PearPhone which he placed in the box last night. When he found it, he placed it carefully in his satchel with the sandwich which he stuffed in a Reynolds bag and left his apartment.

He walked down the street, heading for the direction of the local park. Dogs howled and birds chirped but he kept a straight face, thinking of the song that he found last night, hidden beneath the webshows of iCarly. He copied it in his phone to listen to, curious for he never remembered ever recording a song once in the iCarly days.

Finally, he reached his destination. Kid's laughter could be heard a block away. Freddie found a bench far away from the chaos of running children, which was perfect. Not only because he couldn't concentrate in noisy places but because there was shade in this secluded area for the bench was under an acacia tree, its branches reaching out and covering the wooden seat from the glare of the sun.

Freddie sat down and placed his bag beside him. He unzipped it and produced his sandwich which he immediatly bit in hunger. He also got his earphones plugged it to his PearPhone. He unlocked the device and went to Music. He searched for the title "Unknown- iCarly?" which he thought of himself. He clicked it and pressed play.

His breath hitched when Sam's voice was all he heard. She coughed, "Uhm... so I have decided. My mom keeps asking me what I want to do with my life and to get my grades up because no one would want a person with no smarts and no abilities. So, I've been secretly writing a song. Yeah, uh... I wrote this for a boy which is a total weirdo but happens to be my inspiration. I've finally finished it, though. Turns out, if I put my mind into something, it all ends up well, I guess. I have decided to become an entertainer, surprise surprise! I'm recording this right now in case I lose the paper I wrote in. I also have a guitar with me so..."

Freddie felt a pang in his heart. Sam... she had a life in front of her. But, Freddie never heard her sing properly a complete song before. Nor did he know that Sam could play an instrument... or write.

Sam spoke up again, "Here we go." Freddie pressed the 'plus' button to make the volume higher. Then, silent but sure strums on a guitar's strings filled his ears. It... was so slow and charming. It was beautiful. It was such a beautiful melody, Freddie couldn't find anything that could compare to it. But he soon ate his thoughts once Sam took a deep breath and began singing.

Her voice was rich and country, but a bit shaky with nervousness. The lyrics spoke millions.

"Simply liking you won't satisfy me.
Simply admiring you won't satiate me.
Today, too, the only thing real is my loneliness.
If I go see you now, I'll surely end up crying."

Freddie bit his lip as a lump lodged itself in his throat. Sam... Sam wasn't the lost rebel he always thought she was. She-- her life was full of opportunities.

"I fell in love with you.
In a sunset, filled with the scent of the wind,
when I recall your voice and your smiles,
I immediately become happy.

"I fell in love with you,
but I haven't been able to tell anyone yet.
When I recall your voice and the way you talk,
even though I'm alone I'll become happy."

Silent tears ran down Freddie's cheeks and dripped from his chin to the dry soil beneath his feet. Not because of the lyrics, not because of Sam's voice or the fingers strumming the guitar's thin strings, but because of the memories that accompanied them.

"The feeling of loneliness...forlorn.
The feeling of love...sparkling.
As I'm unable to differentiate between these two feelings,
my heart becomes slowly crushed in the sunset.

"Simply liking you won't satisfy me.
Simply admiring you won't satiate me.
Today, too, the only thing real is my loneliness.
If I go see you now, I'll surely end up crying."

Beauty, emotion, pain, love-- Sam fit them all in just one song. Freddie's body shook with sobs and he had to cover his mouth to keep himself from bawling and creating a scene.

"I fell in love with you.
On a Sunday, filled with the scent of the rain,
when I recall your laughter as you turn back to look at me,
I immediately become wanting to see you.

"This secret feeling...swaying.
This bewildered feeling...softly.
As I'm unable to embrace both of them into my arms,
my heart becomes slowly crushed in the sunset."

Freddie didn't know how much emotion Sam had within her, waiting to be expressed through any means. If it were him, his room would be full of paper balls and he would probably take a weekly trip to a store for new pens because they always run out of ink after seven days. He would practically be bursting with complex emotions and the need to set them free would take over his life. He probably won't have any time for school. But maybe that's why Sam always got low grades. Maybe she was expressing herself but was too insecure to show her works to the world?

"Simply liking you won't satisfy me.
Simply admiring you won't satiate me.
Once the morning light pours in,
I, with courage, will say "I like you!" and yeah, so on and so forth. That's about it, I guess. But maybe repeat the first and second chorus after a very long instrumental. I don't know, I'll get to that another day. That's it, bye." and it was over.

That's it. But Freddie wanted more. More music, more guitars, more country voices, more of Sam.

He would listen to this over and over again, every day and every night. He would take guitar lessons and try to learn the chords. He would get Carly to sing for him, even though it won't be the same. Anything, he'd do anything to share this masterpiece to the world. He would do anything to be even a millimeter closer to Sam.

He would do anything to know more of Sam. Because, even after her death, questions plagued his every dream. If it meant learning about Sam, he would do anything. Even change his life.

A/N: Thanks for 400 reads, so far my record!(^∇^)I know it's not much, but I really do jump for joy when someone new reads my stories, not only this one. I never actually thought people would read this piece of crab haha! But I'm glad you did so salute to you! ( ' ' ) Enjoy the rest of your day.

The song is NOT by me, but rather I got it from the anime "Sekaiichi Hatsukoi" and the song title is "Ashita, Boku wa Kimi ni Ai ni Yuku".
