The fire had been going for fifteen minutes, rising like a phoenix and the ambers floating down like snowflakes. Edd sighed as the heat from the blazing inferno swaddled him in a blanket of warmth like a mother and her baby. It had him enticed in its warmth. But soon, the fire retreated back in the pile of trash. Tom tossed an old tire into the pile. Edd felt the warmth grow once more, sinking into a feeling of comfort and serenity. Suddenly, a bang and an enormous flame erupted, the thunderous noise echoing around them. It brought Edd back to reality and he jumped up. It didn't take too long for him to calm down and settle back into his chair. A simple boom would not ruin this blessed night.
