huh?? two seconds ago i was in my deseased grandmother's attic and next thing i know i am standing in the middle of a grassy field. i look around to try and find something that might give me even the slightest recognition. wherever i am is definately not anywhere near to Bridgeport. first off how did i even get here? oh yah the button. did i press it? i can hardly remember a thing. all i remember is unlocking a secret compartment in the chest but everything that happened after that is a blur. i start walking towards the only thing that i can see in existence is a castle. it seems to reach to heaven although i know it doesnt. it towers high above the clouds therefore i can't see the top of it. it doesn't seem too far so i run in it's direction. all of a sudden i fall to the ground gasping for a breath. my heart starts pounding and i am totally clueless as to what is going on with me. then out of nowhere it stops the whole thing. i manage to get back up and i decide to walk this time. I mean there isn't really any rush.

*~*

I finally reach people. I find myself in a quaint village with dirt roads and booths everywhere. At the booths people are selling fruit, veggies, jewelry and other handmade items. The women are wearing long oldfasioned dresses and the men wear suspenders with highwater pants. Everyone is oddly staring at me like i have four heads. in the near distance I can see the castle. it has a long drawbridge surrounded by a moat with dirty, swampy water. i go to the entrance of the drawbridge and just when i am about to step on it a huge man grabs my waist and throws me over his shoulder. He is wearing shining armour. he roughly grips me and walks steadily down the bridge. as we pass it i see aligators beneath the surface. we finally reach the entrance of the castle. it is so big. it is made of stone. the entrance is double doors which have the same symbol as the one on the sides of the chest in my grandmother's attic. the border of the doors is gold with very intricit designs. there are two other guards at the entrance. one is very tall and lanky. thats about all i can see because his entire body is covered in metal. the other guard is the total opposite. he is short and fat. his belly comes out so far that it oozes out of his uniform. The guard that threw me over his shoulder brings me inside. the giant doors slam shut behind us. The inside of the castle is gorgeous. my eyes follow the red carpet down the center of the room and as i look up i see a throne. its gold and incrested with jewels. around it is stacks of gold coins. " your majesty, i have found an unwanted visitor that is breaking your law." the throne spins around dramatically and reveals a man in his 20s weaering a long red fur cape and a gold crown with rubies on it. " peasant, do you know the crime you've commit?" "uhhh.. no- noo. im not from around here.""i rule this kingdom and beyond. from here or not i am the king." he raises his voice a bit. the guard finally lets me down but not gently. he practically throws me to the feet of the throne. "i'm very sorry for whatever i've done. but your majesty, im unaware of my crime." "Take her the dungeon." his voice booms and echos. " yes sir." the guard replies in a deep voice. he throws me back over his shoulder and grabs a torch from the shelf. he then walks down a narrow, dark corridor and down 4 flights of a stone spiral staircase until we reach the dungeon. he puts me down but roughly holds my hands behind my back with only one of his hands.

I stare at the blank walls surrounding my cell. I finally find the courage to ask the guard why I am stuck in this dungeon. "why am I here?" he replies sternly" you are wearing red. Here, in puritan, England the king has forbid it. " what??? That is absolutely ridiculous. I am in a dungeon for wearing the color red. The bars of my cell make me feel so confined. After hours of sitting on the hard cement floor the guard finally speaks," my assistant guard in training is going to take his shift." And with that he leaves and less than a moment later a boy around the age of 13, which is my age walks in. he is skinny and wearing armour as well. I see him fan himself and then he takes his helmet off revealing his face. He flips his dark brown hair and I see his dark brown eyes. They're so dark brown they are almost black and I can hardly even see his pupal. "can you please explain to me why I am here for simply wearing red?" he takes a deep breath then he begins to speak. "well, to be honest I don't even agree with the law." He talks in a hushed tone so no one else can hear."the king's wife passed away and, you see that was her favorite color so whenever he sees red it reminds him of his loss." "oh, im not from here.. i." my voice trails off as i ponder if i can trust him. although he's been afully generous i don't beleive that telling him my story of how i got here is the best move. "continue. what were you going to say?" his voice sounds so sweet. " as kind as you have been, i-i-im still in this dungeon. YOU are a guard and well im a prisoner. i'm sorry but until i'm sure that i can trust you i'm not comfortable in telling you my story. but.... i'll tell you this, i'm not from this realm." and i end it with that. "oh i-um i'm sorry. it's my job. but you know what i'm sick and tired of all these rules, come on let's get out of here. you with me?" he holds a smile of hope across his face. well, if he's willing to help me escape then as mine as well give it a shot. "yeah, i'm with you. and thanks for well, helping me." "alright. you stay here while i sneak into Joseph's office and get the key to your cell. meanwhile don't say a word. i don't want them to suspect i'm gone. oh yeah and by the way Joseph is the head guard, the one that brought you here in the first place." "ok, i'll be waiting here." he puts his helmet back on and exits through the staircase.
