Just eight suitcases, twelve shoe boxes, and five packing boxes was all it took to pack up my things. As excited as I am for my new journey in New York City, I can't help but mourn my history here in Texas. This is the hardest chapter to close so far. For a second the thought of leaving Jackson behind here saddened my demeanor. Either way that small part in me that wanted to fight for us has to find peace on the situation. Jackson made his own decisions. This is the start of me. I never knew how badly I needed a new beginning until now. We always did everything together, I missed out on so many things because we were so bounded to each other. A glimpse of hope flashed in my eye causing me to wipe the tear that fell, breaking the tie that bonded us.
The next morning.*Alarm Buzzes. *

Today is the day that we will be arriving in Manhattan for my Aunt Carrie and Uncle Big's party. After the party my parents will drop me off at college. I walk down the stairs to enjoy my last family breakfast here in Texas for a long time. As I walk down the stairs into the family room, I hear faint voices of people. I chuckle to myself knowing that my mother and father have probably done something cheesy for my departure from home. Walking into the kitchen I see all of our housekeepers, drivers, and chef. They all chant "suprise!" Tears threating to overflow, I bite my lip, trying not to cry knowing that everyone else is on the verge of their own tears.
Maurice: Ducky we just wanted to send you off the right way.
Crystal(housekeeper): Yes, we've all been like a family since you were born.
*They all smile. *
Jade: Thank you all so much. I can't even explain how much I love you all. I will miss you but I will be back before you know it!
Austin Westin: A New York minute!
The room explodes in laughter. I will definenatly miss my dad's sense of humor, he always knows how to lighten up the room. As we all sit down to eat, I hear a knock at the door.
Jade: I got it, you guys sit and eat.
*Jade walks to the door, opening it her face drops. *
Jackson: *holding a teddy bear with a Texas A&M teeshirt and flag on it. * Hey.
*Jade stands there in silence.*
Jackson: I just wanted to bring you this and hopefully change your mind about where you are going to college.
*They stand there in silence for a moment until Jade sucks her teeth and shakes her leg up and down in anger. *
Jade: Jackson are you serious?
Jackson: I--
Jade: You haven't came to my door step once since that night and the first time you do you come barring a lame attempt to what? Make me decide to go to Texas A&M with you and your mistress.
