When I woke up, I was on a very soft material, my eyes squinting at the brightness of my immediate environment. Taking a deep breathe, I shook my head as the dizziness slowly goes away. My dry throat is a real discomfort at the moment.

Looking down, I realized I was partly lying down on a bed sofa, wearing a... wedding dress.

The spacious exquisite looking room is empty but there is a rack of wedding dresses against the far wall and a set of make-up neatly arranged at the nearby lit-up make-up table. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror.

The dress I was wearing is a real dream come true. It is an off-shoulder white dress with intricate flower petals on the bodice and finished with glitters all over the flowy skirt. Even my shoes are a pair of beautiful white fabric heels with flower petals. My hair is not even done yet, must be because I was lying down and that would most probably destroy the hairdo anyway.

A low tiara is placed on the makeup table. The jewels attached to it shone even in the bright light that I'm sure will go very well with my dress. My family might not have even asked for my opinion but they have most certainly hit the right spots. This whole setup is a dream come true.

Snap out of it. This is not some fairytale wedding.

Shaking my head, I looked around for anything that might help.

A phone. There is a phone on the table.

Click.

"Don't even think about it, honey."

Mum. I really dislike this voice. Whenever it enters my hearing, it is either mocking or threatening. Or both. Sometimes I really wish she didn't find me at the orphanage.

.. but she didn't find me. Ha Joon did.

"Ha Joon is fine. Assuming you're wondering about him."

She strolled into the room in a gorgeous peach hanbok with her hair up and secured with a pin on the side of her head. I've never seen her in a hanbok before but our dress codes is making the feeling at the pit of my stomach sink even deeper.

"What have you done to him? He has nothing to do with all this. Ha Joon-"

"I said he's fine, Ha Eun." Her tone is authoritative. Though it could not be considered high, it was most definitively ear-piercing at it's best.

She looked at a couple of folders in her hand that I didn't realize she had been carrying with her. Casually throwing it on the coffee table, she fished out a pen from her pocket and threw it at the stack. "These are the pre-nuptial agreements. Sign them."

My eyes bulged at her diminutive but short instructions.

"Why would I do that?"

She studied her nails and as she settled on the sofa I was lying on, in no obvious intentions of rushing. It must still be too early or else she would at least be rushing. Though it is very bright outside, I cannot even start to guess what time of the day nor how long I passed out for.

"If you don't sign this, Ha Joon will be at a huge disadvantage."

I scoffed at her. Is she really my mum? Our mum?

She looked at me amusingly. "I won't hurt my own son, girl. If you don't sign this nor run away from this wedding, I'm going to bash it on at your beloved brother. We should have realized this earlier, but Ha Joon is your obvious weakness."

"What are you going to do to Ha Joon?" My hands are starting to shake and I put them together to stop them from being uncontrollable.

"Nothing much," she casually said. "We'll just throw him out of the inheritance."
