Chapter 4: Ash's past

(Ash's pov)

I was walking with Pikachu and Greninja around Lumiose Prism tower and I saw Calem and a girl that was not Serena, but Miette. They were kissing so I hid in a tree with the help of Battle bond. I took a photo of Calem and Miette. I stayed up in the tree eavesdropping on their conversation. 
"Does Serena know that you are cheating on her?" Miette asks. "No, forget about her, she is a pain in the behind, I only care about you," Calem said. "Well you know, Serena is the most popular girl in school, so you don't want to lose your reputation cheating on her." Ash was disgusted by Calems actions. Once Calem and Miette left, Ash and Greninja, instead of taking the streets used the rooftops, (like real ninjas. Just needed this because Greninja would lose something that is in its nature.) Ash was hurrying towards his house when he heard girls scream.  "Let go of me." Said a familiar voice. It was Serena, and four Team Flare grunts had surrounded her. "Greninja use water shuriken." I yelled while jumping down and landed on my feet. Serena looked at me in surprise. "Well, well, well, isn't it the battle bond boy." said a grunt. "Greninja use aerial ace, Pikachu use Volt tackle," I commanded. Pikachu sparked electricity and charged like a bullet at the Grunts four pokemon, deflecting off two like they were pin, while Greninja's fists were glowing and he was sending punches all over the places at the grunts. Serena was shaking on the spot, her clothes were slightly dirty. "Kid, do you know what you are dealing with, she is the only person who can control Yveltal, and we already have Calem Xavier he can control Xerneas. It is in the blood, they can help lead the world to peace as Lysandre said." The first grunt said. 

(Serena's Pov)

Once I have heard this information, I remember Calem say that his father had died in an ambush by someone, they had a Greninja and destroyed his lab in the process. "You know, I think I know who that person is." The grunts gasped at the words. "It was me, I protected the world 4 times with the help of my friends, pokemon and others. I helped Zeraora trust people. I saved Zygard from you guys using the mega evolution energy to create the massive rock. Blew it up with a Z-move. I made people see reason and I have stepped into attacks to protect people and Pokemon." I was shocked at what the loser had done in his past. I wanted to run but I couldn't run because this loser helps people. "Run Serena, Go. I'll see you at school." So I ran, and ran, and ran all the way to the pokemon centre and called the police. Once we arrived at the spot, Ash and his Pokemon had disappeared and there were four knocked out Grunts. I wanted to thank Ash but then I remembered what I had done to him at school.

(Ash's Pov)

Once the Grunts had been dealt with, I walked with Pikachu and Greninja home and Mom greeted us and said there were arrests on the news. I knew Serena had called the cops and they were interviewing Serena and about the incident. "As from my point of view I was ambushed by the four people that were arrested and there was a person who appeared with a Greninja and Pikachu who protected me and told me to run," Serena said. "Can you tell us who this person is?" the reporter asked curiously. "His name is Ash Ketchum, a classmate. He also managed to beat me in a battle earlier today and keeping his school champion title." Mom was shocked. "Ash did you help this young lady and beat her in a battle even though she didn't like losing?" "Look I help people who require help. She was ambushed so I went to help." I replied calmly. I went to bed that night hoping that everybody at school hadn't seen the news. 

The next day I woke up, with a start, and looked at my clock, Pikachu was still asleep so I got up, dressed, and woke up Pikachu by letting him smell some ketchup. "Pika, Pikachu?" Pikachu woke up and followed me downstairs and ate a sandwich, eggs and bacon. Red later came downstairs with wet hair and looked very sleepy. He was woken up by Charmeleon who looked as though he was special. Once I was finished I ran to the bus stop with Pikachu and Red.

When I arrived at school, everyone was glaring at me because I had helped the popular girl, when I was a loser. I started to think of the song Blue.

I went to class and saw Serena beaming at me and gave her a nod. "All right class next week we are going to have a 5-week camping trip to Kanto, then we are going to spend 5 weeks in Alola to study the regional variants. Ash, would you mind showing us some Alolan pokemon you caught?"
I then nodded and sent out my Lycanroc, Incineroar, Rowlet, Melmetal, and Naganadel. I was excited because I was the Alolan Champion and nobody has beaten me in 7 years, and with the power spots all over the world, I have been known as the strongest trainer of the century. I beat done all the Champions.

(Time skip next week at the airport)

"Ash, remember to change your underwear every day." Mom said. "MOM! I'm 16!" I yelled. Calem and his friends were laughing at some joke, while my group was chatting with Red. "Ash, come on let's get our tickets and get on the plane to Kanto," Red shouted to me. "Ok, I'm coming. Pikachu let's go and get our tickets." "Pikachu pika pika pikachu." Once I was at the gate with the class, everybody returned their pokemon except for me because Pikachu hates being inside his Pokeball plus I respect his choice. "Sir, please return your pokemon into their Pokeball." The flight attendant asked politely. "Sorry but Pikachu hates being inside its Pokeball, and I respect his choice because he is my starter from Kanto," I said apologetically to the flight attendant. She nodded and walked away. I looked at Pikachu who was sleeping in my lap.

Once we arrived in Kanto, I looked to see Professor Oak walking to greet Gary and me. "Hello there boys, I see that you are here on a school trip. Ash, I hope you and Pikachu are well. Oh and Ash, Vermillion city gym leader Lt. Surge wants a rematch. "Well, I accept the challenge," I said. 
I saw Serena and Calem talking, and I couldn't help but eavesdrop on them. "Calem, Don't challenge the Vermillion gym, it is the second toughest gym in Kanto." Serena pleaded. "I will show you that I am better at battling than that loser. Plus that means I have a much easier challenge after I beat Vermillion." Right then and there I walked out and told Professor Sycamore I was heading for Vermillion City gym, to rechallenge the gym. "Well good luck Ash, Once you are done with the challenge, come back here. Ok?" He said. I nodded and sent out Charizard and flew to Vermillion city. I looked down to see Goh and Cinderace waiting in front of the gym. "Ash, great to see you again, and you too Pikachu." "Chaaaa." Pikachu cooed as Goh scratched him. "So I heard of the rematch and came to cheer you on." "Great, because you will see my team in full power." 

I entered the gym with Goh and saw Lt. Surge and Visquez on the battlefield. Lt. Surge and Visquez looked at see me walking into the gym. "Ash, great to see you again. I heard you beat Visquez in the World Coronation series. I am challenging you to a 3 v 3 battle." Lt. Surge said determined. 

(Serena's Pov)

I was pleading Calem not to take the gym challenge but he wouldn't listen. So now I have to see all of his gym battles if he wins the Vermillion gym battle. "Look we're here. I heard that it is an electric type gym. Not even Ground types can beat it." We entered it to see a battle beginning. On one side, there was man with a Raichu, he had camo pants and shirt. On the other side, there was a boy, he had a Pikachu and looked familiar. "The battle between, Lt. Surge and the Challenger, Ash Ketchum is about to begin. Trainers your pokemon." The referee shouted. I looked to see Ash sending out his Pikachu, and Lt. Surge sent out his Raichu. It looked like the battle would be tough. "Seriously, the gym leader would win, the loser can't beat his Raichu," Calem said.
