I woke up took a shower and got ready for the day, i didn't have work today but i did have to get my check and do some other things before i went to see Mattia

i got to my car making sure i had everything and drove to the bank to put money in my card, after that i went to the grocery store and grabbed a couple things i needed then back home to put them away

I got back in my car and heard heard my phone ringing but took a while to find it since i had so many things in my car

"Hello?"

"you said you didn't have work today"
Mattia said sounding a little annoyed

"I don't, but i had to do some things"

"so when are you coming?"

"in about an hour maybe? I'll get some food and be over in a bit"

"okay see you then"
he hung up the phone

I turned my music on and drove to get some donuts and coffee since i'm pretty sure his mom is still there. after that i drove to the hospital got a visitors pass and walked to his room seeing him look out the window

"hey, i brought some donuts and water because i'm not a fan of coffee"

"me either"
he smiled sitting up and grabbing a chocolate covered glazed donut

"so what are we doing today?"
he asked

"don't know, i didn't really plan anything"

"that's fine, we can just talk more, what do you do for work?"

"i work with kids, mainly teenagers, kids who's parents couldn't help them"

"like troubled kids?"
he asked curious

"not exactly, kids with struggles, my mom used to take me to just hang out with the kids and talk, and i loved it there, after she passed i started working there and talking to more kids, helping them"

"so there like me?"

"kind of, yes"

I heard a knock on the door a couple guys walked in, they were the ones who told me Mattia wanted to talk, i never really introduced myself

"oh hi, i'm y/n"
i stood shacking the curly hair guys hand

"Alejandro, we're Mattia's friends, we met the day he got here"

"Kairi"
the shorter boy said shaking my hand

"Alvaro"
he smiled

"Roshaun"
instead of a handshake he hugged me

"oh, ok"
i stepped back

"he thinks handshakes are overrated so he hugs"
Alejandro said

"sorry"
Roshaun said stepping back

"it's fine, I just don't like hugs that much"

"guys i told you not to come"
Mattia stood up from his bed

"we wanted to see you"
Kairi said with a low tone voice

"you haven't talked to us in over a month Mattia, we miss our bestfriend who made us laugh so much our runs hurt"

"can you just talk to us?"
Alvaro asked

"talk to you about what? how i cut myself i almost bled to death?! Or how I drank a bottle of pills and nearly died?! I was so close to dying and didn't, and I wanted to jump off that bridge more than anything,  but then something changed. There was no Angel, nor something in my heart, but there was a person who just stood there. Talking to me. A person who didn't know me beside me talking to me. She could have walked away and done nothing but she promised me she was gonna stay. A stranger did something my own friends couldn't do"

His voice began to crack. Tears dripping down his cheek, his friends looking at the ground in shame. not knowing what to say or do

"we're sorry. we tried but how are we supposed to know what to do. Trust me Mattia we tried, everytime someone at school said something to you were stopped it, we were always sticking up for you and we still are. no matter if we're friends or not we'll always have your back"
Alejandro spoke up

"just talk to us when you can, we love you, don't forget it"
Kairi said with a soft smile

they all walked out as Mattia watched them

"there just trying to help"

"i don't want there help"

"you say that now, but overtime your gonna appreciate them, even if you hate them"

"how would you know how i feel? i've only known you a few days and you think your some kind of therapist? I wish you would have just let me fall"

tears began flooding y/n's eyes, she yelled it in as long as she could, she grabbed her bag and phone looking at Mattia

"you need some time for yourself, I have work all day tomorrow so I can't come tomorrow"

"no wait, I'm sorry"
he regretted what he had said to her before

"it's ok, really, you just need time"

she smiled at him and wrapped her arms around him hugging him as he he tightly hugged her back taking a deep breath, he enjoyed the hug while it lasted

"i thought you hate hugs?"

"i do, but everyone always needs a hug"

she smiled and walked off
