The day was over and the last thing on my list was to forward a few emails to my clients which I haven't done as yet

Sitting in my office, cold coffee on the table and my eyes focused on the computer I had over 21 emails to forward to a few of my clients

My office door opens, what is it now I'm busy!

"Ever heard of knocking?", My eyes fixed on the door, Brielle was standing at the door with her body drooping over the door

"I'm hungry father, and the phone you left me with doesn't work so I came to you" she says

"I thought I locked the door?", I asked confused as if she walked out another way

"The maid's wanted to clean that room so I had to leave, and as im walking I found my way here" she added

I slowly lift up my left eyebrow and stare down at her, I gave those maid's specific instructions not to clean that specific room!  this just goes to show no one in this bloody house doesn't give two shits to what I say

"Come here Brielle", in my demanding voice she walks over to me hesitantly, she's still afraid of me

"Why do you have to be so demanding father?" She questioned

"I told you before didn't I?, I'm not a father's type so don't expect me to be nice to you" I lashed

"If you keep up this act, then we won't get along" she frowns and folded her arms

"Have you had no manners child?, I can instantly throw you out of here", I told her

"I'm sorry father.." she looks down with and starts playing with her fingers

I've never had a child before so you cant expect me to be your typical nice guy, but this child is making me feel a bit of pity for her and I'm not liking this feeling

"There's food in the pantry, downstairs to your left, if the maid's are finished cleaning the room grab your snacks and go straight back up there" I commanded her hinting that I don't want any disturbance

"But can't I stay with you?" She lifts up her head and I sigh deeply indicating that I'm annoyed at the sudden questions she asks

"I'm working and I don't need any disturbance brielle I'm a busy man" i turn my head to my computer and continued typing

"Oh alright," she says in a soft cracked voice

"Now run along you don't want to keep your stomach empty and waiting"

She nods and walks quietly over to the door but stops and turns around

"I love you father," I looked up immediately and narrowed my eyes at her I havent heard those words in a long time not because I don't say it doesn't mean I don't mean it

"I have a deep regard for you as well Brielle" I told her before she left

Love? What is it?

Hours have passed and it's now 4:30AM in the morning, Brielle has fallen asleep and I just realized I haven't encountered her with any clothes, shoes, and more importantly child accessories

I've never done this for anyone except for my wife but I'll make an acception for well, my child

I presume children her age love dresses, and makeup I don't blame her though

She has her mother's Jeans

As the time goes by it was now 7:45AM my maid's have already bought what Brielle has needed and wanted

"Sir we never really gotten her size but I think this will do" she holds up a dress, pink pale color with a few rainbow like diamonds surrounding the sleeves

"It looks like a solid 7 or 9 but it would have to do", I told her

"Do we wake her up and let her pick out what she likes? Or-"

I cut her off and shake my head no

"She's had a long day, she deserves some rest" she nodded and laid most of the clothes on the chair next to the bed, she leaves the room and I sit in the chair with my leg over the other

Today is my wife's funeral, not sure if I should attend or stay home and look after this child of mine

I might as well bring her along with me, ..this is going to be a long day..

A few moments later

"Father? Why do I have to wear such a tight and enormous dress I'm perfectly fine wearing something that's elegant and appropriate not big and fancy" she complains as the maid attaches the buttons inside of the holes

"If your going to see your mother buried you might as well look presentable"

"But mum said I don't always have to be presentable everywhere I go I don't always have to look pretty" she stated

"Well no daughter of mine is going out looking like they've turned from riches to rags"

She stayed silent and the maid was finished, she was wearing a black and white puffed dressed with a few white flowers attached at the bottom (black and white) her shoes (white heels) her hair neatly done with a few black and white accessories in her hair

"What about you? Aren't you going to get ready for this "special occasion?", She said as if she was annoyed at me

"Do you not like what I'm wearing?" I asked confused

"You look as if you got fired from a constructions job a few nights ago father," she said while folding her arms

"What do you suggest I should wear?"

"Something that doesn't make you look old father, and I'm pretty sure your not 50 years old"

"I see you have a taste in fashion my child" a small smile planted on my face

There it is again I'm smiling

"Mum always told me, you can never get enough of fashion" she said proudly

"Alright I'll take your word for it" I added and walked over to my closet, I took out a black coat and a white chocolate like silk pants

"Much better now hurry up and change we don't have all day father mother is waiting to see us" she said happily

She leaves the room and I change, I took a few looks in the mirror and I was properly groomed as if I'm ready to be married never thought I'd be looking like this again

"Sir Johnathan? We're ready to leave"

I adjusted my tie and followed the maid downstairs, people packed at my door and brielle? Nowhere to be seen?

"Ahem! Have you seen my daughter?" I questioned one of the maids

"I believe she went outside sir" she stated

"And you allowed her?!" I shouted sounding angry and upset these maid's know how to get on my last nerves

"Outside where?!"

"T-to the back sir.." she said shakingly

I make my way outside and around the the back of the house scanning the whole area Brielle was nowhere to be found

This can't be right she was here a few minutes ago where is she now?

"Looking for something sir? Or are you lost?"
