jeongyeon has been watching over her grandmother's library since she was a teenager. she didn't finished senior highschool because of it, but she didn't really had much of a choice. everything she does is for someone she cares about, and knowing that she pleases is enough for her.

"jeong, wanna have have lunch with me?" chaeyoung, her regular, asked her.

"you go ahead. i'll stay here." she replied shortly and went back to reading the newspaper.

chaeyoung sighed softly and looked at her. she shook her head and went outside the library.

jeongyeon doesn't have friends. she isolated herself by spending her whole day at the library. after working, she goes straight home to avoid socializing as much as she can.

after reading the editorial page of the news paper, she gets her lunchbox and the book she's currently reading from her bag.

"you're just about to eat?" chaeyoung asked. she grabbed a chair and sat beside the counter.

"yeah." she answered while opening her lunchbox.

"i'm starting to think that you've become one with the library. you barely talk." she chuckled.

"i don't have anything to say." she said while munching on her tteokbokki.

"tell me something about yourself. ask me something." she uttered. "i've been coming here for a month, and i think you don't even know my name."

"actually, i do got a question." jeongyeon looked at her.

"what?" her eyes sparkled.

"why are you trying so hard to have a mutual conversation with me?” she asked.

"just because. there's no reason." she answered. "i'm not really good at making friends. i even stay here to pass time. i just... feel like we're the same somehow, you know?"

"no, i don't." she went back to eating.

chaeyoung heavily sighed and closed her eyes.

"what's your name?" jeongyeon asked without looking.

"chaeyoung. son chaeyoung." she uttered.

jeongyeon didn't responded, instead, she secretly wrote chaeyoung's name in a sticky note and sticked it on a drawer.

"you know i don't like staying at libraries." nayeon crossed her arms. "and you even picked the big one, not the uni's."

"how can you hate it when you haven't even entered one your whole life?" jihyo rolled her eyes. "this is for our research. you want to pass, right?"

"ugh, do i really have to?" she groaned. "and for the record, i don't want hate it. i just don't like it."

"yes you have to and saying that you don't hate it doesn't make a difference." jihyo dragged her inside the library.

"stop dragging me, jih-"

"this is a quiet zone." jeongyeon cuts her shouting off.

"we're so sorry." jihyo bowed. nayeon just looked at jeongyeon, so jihyo grabbed her head and made her bow.

“move along." she gestured them to go, not even batting an eye on them.

"i actually think i hate it now." she groaned, but still helped jihyo to look for books.

they found at least six books that they think can them. they sat at the table and jihyo opened her laptop.

"i don't really get it." nayeon sighed.
