I was beyond scared, but I couldn't act upon my feelings because they would smell my fear.
Smiling at the old couple, I interrupted them from telling me their order. "Excuse me for the moment. I just got a message that my mother is in the hospital, and I need to go see her. I'm going to get one of my co-workers to assist you. Is that fine?" I asked, untying my apron, not caring about the shit lie I just told.
The couple looked at me in sympathy. "Oh honey, it's surely okay. Go be with your mother. We know what it feels like to lose a loved one." The lady said, lightly touching my arm, but I wanted to snatch it back in hurry.
"Here, take this to help out." She said, handing me up a folded bill. I smiled gratefully at her.
"Than you so much." I said, getting choked up. Giving them one final smile, I turned and left.
"Shyanne, where the hell are you going?" Donald boomed at me as I entered his office, looking frantic.
"Donald, I have to go. You can take it out of my check, but please let me go early." I walked out of his office, heading to the lockers.
"What the hell is wrong with you Shyanne? You're like a daughter to me. Tell me, are you okay?"
I didn't even turn around as I talked to him. "I just really have to go Donnie. I'm sorry," I said, making my way to the door.
"Just call me when you make it home." He said, sending a sympathetic smile my way. Donald knew some of what had happened to me when I was younger, but not all.
I was about to leave out the back door, when the employee door swung open, revealing three intimidating guys.
I gasped, backing up to hit a wall. "Hey what the hell are y'all doing in here?! The sign on the door says specifically only for employees!" Now Donald was a buff guy for being in his late forties, but I don't think he could take three grown werewolves.
"We just came to talk to her." The one in the front said, pointing to me. Donald look between him and I.
"No, now get out before I call the cops." Donald said, trying to push them out the door. They all maliciously growled, making Donald back up with big, scared eyes.
"Shyanne, I advise you to run." The guys all turned towards me, growling slightly. My wolf whimpered in the inside, not liking their challenging stares. She had a right to feel the way, considering I would be Alpha if my pack hadn't died in that fire.
"We just want to talk to her. We're not going to hurt her." Donald took a protective step towards me, making them growl again.
"Donald, it will be okay. Calm down," I said, rubbing his shoulder. He gave me a look but stepped away.
"If she doesn't come back tomorrow for her shift, I'm calling the police on you. I have your faces on camera." Donald said, facing the group of guys head on. They gave amused grins, but nodded.
Giving Donald a hug, I promised to call him if I needed him. Walking past the guys, I felt there eyes on me, and shuddered in disgust. If it was my mate, I wouldn't mind, but knowing that these guys are just looking at girls when they have a mate somewhere, is disgusting.
Turning around, I gave them a disgusted look in the dim hallway. "Look, you guys have mates, and I know damn well I'm not it, so stop looking at my fucking ass!" I said, crossing my arms, and giving them a look. They all looked like deer caught in headlights.
"Are we going to stay here and talk, or are we going to my place." I growled at them as they all gave pervy looks. Immature was the only word to describe them.
"We can go to your house." The 'leader', I'm guessing, said. I nodded, and then lead them out of the restaurant, and to my apartment.

Making my way into my apartment, I let the boys go in first. Leading them into the living room, I set my stuff down, and then motioned for them to sit down as well."What are you guys here for?" I asked, getting straight down to business. One of the guys smirked and laughed.
"Nice way to greet your guests isn't it?" They all laughed, making me roll my eyes, annoyed.
"Look, I'm technically a rogue. You guys are in a pack, I can smell it on you. Now what the hell did you come here for, because I'm not in the mood to deal with you all. I have school work to do, and quite frankly, I'm not in the fucking mood to take care of a bunch of werewolves." They looked at me shocked and then gained composure.
"Now that we got the formalities out of the way, why don't you tell us why you're here." The leader said.
"I've been here for five years, almost six. Why come looking for me now?" I asked, looking them all over.
The two that didn't talk much looked exactly alike. They both had light brown hair with blue eyes. They had naturally tan skin, but you could see light freckles on them. The other one resembled them a little, but not a lot. He had the same skin tone and eyes, but his hair was a bright blonde that suited him well, and didn't have freckles. I'm guessing they were brothers and cousins.
"Did you hear anything I just said?" The blonde one asked.
"No," I said, shaking my head. I'm pretty sure if I was any lighter, you would see my face go red.
"I said that we are now having more of a rogue pop up, and we were informed that you were here. Our Alpha told us to come and check on you." The blonde one said.
"Well, you've found out who I am and that I'm harmless, you can leave now." I said, pointing to the door.
"We have to have you meet our Alpha soon." I groaned, not liking that news. I didn't want to deal with any Alpha anymore or pack. I couldn't go through what I went through so many years ago.
"Can't you just tell him I'm harmless and I won't bother you all?" They shook their heads no, and I sighed. "Well when will you be back."
The blonde shrugged. "Whenever," and with that, they got up and left.
Sighing, I face palmed. I cannot deal with this right now.
