May 22, 2014 - Thursday. It's 5:22 pm in North Jeju. A 24-year-old lady named Son Yejin was just sitting at the Sanji Lighthouse, waiting for the sunset. Inhaling the fresh air and the sea breeze touching her skin. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Feeling the calmness of the surrounding, the sound of the waves, the sun light kissing her face.

A man climbed up the lighthouse to watch the sunset as well. We he arrived the spot, he put his hands up to his his eyebrow so than he can see clearly. When he faced his right side, he saw a woman closing her eyes. She looks like she's relaxing. She's sitting in the plastic bench where he used to sit.

"Excuse me, miss."

Yejin was shocked when she heard his voice. She just looked at him.

"Is the seat taken?" The man asked, pointing at the empty space in the bench, beside Yejin.

"No, it's not. You can sit here." Yejin replied.

The man walked towards the bench with a smile in his face.

"Hi, I'm Hyun Bin." He held out his hand, waiting for her to respond. She looked at his face, and then his hand.

"This man is... handsome." she told herself. Yejin shook his hand.

"Hi, I'm Son Yejin." she smiled. They found it awkward which made them laugh. Bin then sat down beside Yejin. They did not talk. Yejin was just taking pictures and so is Bin. Little did he know that she was already taking pictures of her.

"For memories, I guess." he thought to himself. At exactly 5:42 pm, she sun is starting to set. Casting golden yellow with a touch of orange, brown and a little bit of blue in the sky, reflecting on the sea. They were both mesmerized by the view.

Hyun Bin really wanted to talk to her, to get to know her

Hyun Bin really wanted to talk to her, to get to know her. She seems interesting, he thought.

"So... How long have you been coming here? I don't see you that often before." he asked out of curiosity.

"I come here every 22nd of the month."  she let out an awkward smile.

"Oh. So you don't live around the area? Let me guess, you're from Seoul. Am I right?" both of them chuckled and Yejin nodded in agreement.

"If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work?"

"I am the head of an events organizing company in Seoul. How about you?"

Bin stood in awe of her. He was surprised!

" Whoa! Daebak! That's an awesome job! Well me, I'm  own a coffee shop here in Jeju."  he answered. He's looking at her like she's the only woman in the world. Awkward~

"Amazing! I like coffee, a lot! I can't survive a day without drinking at least 1 cup of coffee. I'm a coffeeholic, I think." she laughed.

He really wanted to ask her out but he don't know how, now, he got the perfect chance to do so.

"Are you up for a night coffee with me? I'll take you to my shop."  hoping she'll accept the offer.

"Of course it's a go for me! That's coffee we're talking about."  they laughed so loud, not caring whether someone heard them.

They had a fun ride going to Bin's coffee shop. A friendly ride. When they arrived at his coffee shop, he held the door open for her, and smiled. Yejin mouthed "thank you" to him and he responded with a smile.

They both ordered a dark roast coffee and a tiramisu for Yejin. Before she started eating she took a snap first, for social media purposes. She also took a snap of the place because she thought she might be able to organize an event in his shop.

She took a spoonful of tiramisu and moaned with satisfaction.

"Whoa, Mr. Hyun! You serve good food! This tiramisu is insanely delicious. I love it!"

Bin only looked at her and smiled because he thought she looked like a cute baby. "Thank you so much, Ms. Son. That's a personal recipe."

Yejin was surprised. She never thought of that. They kept on talking and talking. Not much personal details, though. Only the basics. They first asked about each other's age.

"You guess. Based on how I look, how old do you think I am?"  Yejin said.

"Oh come on. You look like you're only 22 years old or something."  he replied while laughing. They both laughed.

"Tss... Well, I'm already 24 years old. Turning 25 this year. How about you?"  she told asked.

"You don't look like one. You look younger than your age. We're just of the same age. I'm also 24 years old, turning 25 this year."  he smiled.

They talked and talked. When Yejin looked at her watch and saw that it's already 24 minutes past 7 pm, she told Bin that she had to go because she still has work the next day. He told her that he'll take her to airport since it's already dark. At first, she did not agree on the idea but she agreed later on. When they arrived at the airport, he opened the door of the car for her. He walked her to the entrance of the airport and talked a little bit more.

"Have a safe flight. I had fun talking to you earlier."  he smiled at her.

"Thank you for the free ride. I had fun too." they smiled at each other, awkward smile. Yejin then went inside the airport. When she took two steps, he looked back only to find out that he hasn't left yet. She went back outside.

"Here, type your phone number... for... uhm... for... future event. Yes. For future events."  Yejin handed him her phone but she did not look at him in the eye.

Bin took the phone and typed his number. He just smiled all the time because she really looked so cute. "Here you go."  Bin handed back the phone.

"B-bye. I'll go ahead."  Yejin walked fast to get herself out of an awkward situation.

When she was no longer in sight, he then decided to leave.

"This will be the start of an amazing friendship. I can feel it" he laughed to himself.
